yeah. basic rules still apply but the window is shrinking: make sure you've got food, water, and meds. currently getting some as if i get it i want to be with a closet of medicine for every single symptom. coupled with my age and general health, should minimize it and i can help anyone i care about that didn't pay attention.

I guess it sort of makes sense that the Chinese infections are beginning to slow especially when most of the country has been isolated for over a month. I think the numbers are still being handled but I do believe they are slowing down. The reinfections seems more like a false negative to me but Im just guessing here.

Here is the best Coronavirus tracking website I found so far it updates every few minutes with confirmed cases, deaths and recovered cases.

Fun to just have up in a separate tab and just watch the numbers go up

I guess overwhelmed hospitals and then a large amount of deaths. People are saying this could become a yearly thing, but how would it change from how it is now then?

I mean, counties can't remain quarantined forever. Like, China is going to come out of quarantine then someone is gonna bring it right back in. At what point is it just a deal with it thing? Or can it be based on what it does to the body?

I am sure a person with a sick sense of humor might say this is the cure to social security going under in the US. Since it preys on the older.

if this legit becomes a yearly thing i expect a lot more interest in medicine designed to fight against pnumonia. there's a few of them, not all necessarily labeled as such, but that'd be the biggest hope. along with the claims of sterility being rare or fake, that part would suck.

it was here before we could do anything about it.
it's not like trump's announcement magically got rid of the people who were here in the first two to three weeks of the outbreak. it was across US, Asia, and Europe by then, with no way of finding, let alone containing, the virus.

no matter how fast we would've jumped, it would've reached us. especially Cali.

some quick updates:

• South Korea's on pace to having 600+ people officially infected today. think they're at 571 as of 4 hours ago.
• Japan closing schools and Abe said he needs an extra $50 billion to fight the coronavirus.
• think it's been said earlier but San Francisco already declared a state of emergency on it, despite not having any known cases. this is absolutely the right call to make.
• and finally, FDA reporting their first drug shortage. they don't specify what but as i've said repeatedly before, if there are any drugs you need or even want, get them. 3 months supply should suffice but most drugs can last for much longer than that so nothing wrong if you go over than that. also do get typical stuff for the flu and for diarrhea.

I had a dream last night where everyone started getting quarantined for this, but then it was too much effort to save everyone, so they gave these green bands to anyone who was deemed worthy to quarantine. The infected people started rioting and became zombie-like, so it turned into something like The Last of Us and we did a whole survival campaign.

4 cases in Greece so far. We have closed some schools and the bad thing is that we have cancelled ALL Carnival festivities in all towns. Do you know how bad is that for the economy? How many people worked for all these in all these towns? How many people would travel and enjoy themselves? How much money everyone loses? Yeah a lot.

Doesnt this video contradict itself? That Ben Stiller looking PA says its just another virus (no shit, idiot) but like the flu. The chart says otherwise and only in severe cases that require hospitization are they similar - shortness of breath/trouble breathing right off the bat sounds worse.

There arent any coronavirus (COVID-19) cases here in Hawaii, but health officials want people to have food, supplies and medicine just in case.

At Costco Iwilei, flatbeds were overflowing with boxes of canned goods, bottled water, toilet paper and paper towels. One shopper picked up all these things and more.

The essentials toilet paper, paper towels, bottles of water, soap, a lot of clorox stuff, cleaning supplies. I figure with all the coronavirus scare and everything, its better to be safe than sorry, said Honolulu resident Keane Zakimi.

Others picked up foods that could last a long time.

Its always a good idea to stock up with things that are protein items like albacore, or things that have a shelf life thats a long time protein items, things, like black beans, said Marlene Nations, a Kailua resident. Yeah this is just an extra precaution but no panic.

Panic buying, or leaving store shelves bare, is what the Hawaii Foodbank is worried about. Theyre seeing it in other Asian countries and are concerned it could impact those who may need the food.

You should get enough stuff to be able to not leave your house if you are ordered to quarantine for 14-20 days. Tap water is gonna be fine. But yes toilet paper and enough food for that much time should be a good idea.

General information suggests two weeks is enough. Personally some stuff i just go over on anyway - toilet paper, bottles of Ibuprofen - but that's easy to do. Rice, beans, pasta, canned food. Simple to have and not worry about.

Lots of companies here are telling people to get back to work next Monday. What the fuck.

There's a sense of complacency now that the situation is less serious that expected with a few cases every day. But a few million people cramming into public transport is not going to end well.

I'm honestly not sure if at this point if quarantine matters anymore. With how spread it is, it is bound to come back regardless.

Got to minimize as much as you can so that the summer months can basically eradicate the disease like SARS. April is the optimistic viewpoint I'd wager.

I frequent both for fun and work places that typically have tens of thousands of people gathered at once so I am hoping we can keep a handle on this thing here.

The only good thing is here in Cali we should already be prepared with supplies if we have to quarantine just because we always have the risk of a major earthquake looming over us
