Move into anything you can afford the security deposit on. Cops are not serving evictions during pandemic.

On the bright side it isn't freezing and you're not up north.

Drive your car north to escape heat. If your vehicle can tow one, you might want to look for cheap camper.

Ew cold lol. And I intend on getting a van at some point. Should be cheaper to run than my truck and I can do the vanlife thing.

You should be getting something if the government can stop bickering for a few moments then.

Psychologically speaking I became homeless when my dad passed away and I developed severe PTSD as a result of discovering and handling his body as well as eventually having to abandon my childhood home to my adoptive half brother because my dad didnt leave a will and because, as a result of severe shock, I was unable to sleep in that home anymore.

Literally speaking it happened when things finally boiled over with my abusive second ex whose house I was living in at the time, and because I had no one to turn to and a paltry part-time burger flipping job I just opted to stay in my vehicle.

The big thing I tend to say is to not fear being homeless. The fears people tend to associate with it are overblown and you get over them quickly. Where homelessness becomes problematic is when it becomes chronic, ie you do it for years on end.

But preventatively speaking, dont get addicted to anything and dont ever fall into the trap of selling stuff to get by. You just run out of stuff.

Beyond that, its just a matter of budgeting and maintaining a stable income. I managed to climb out of homelessness twice (for a period of two months and a period of 27 days respectively) doing just that, but it was the jobs turning out to not be stable that ruined it.
