Like does it take a couple of days/weeks until you feel like literal crap or does it only take less than a day until you feel like literal crap?

Its different for everyone and you can be sick with Covid-19 and not be symptomatic.

Think of it like the flu or a cold. It effects folk differently. My brother for example refers to the common cold as "man flu" simply because it effects him seemingly a lot more than the average person. Personally I think he exaggerates too much.

This. A guy at my father's place of employment came down with it with a sudden shortness of breath and dropped dead 12 hours later.

Some people that have it don't even know they have it and end up just fine. This bug is such a mindfuck because it's terribly inconsistent with how symptoms present.

Regardless, the most common and distinct set of symptoms tend to hit all at once. Especially the shortness of breath/collapsing.

A lot of people call it man flu or man cold and I think because stereotypically a lot of men act so miserable and helpless when sick where as back in the day and somewhat still today a house wife couldnt get away with that shit she still had to take care of the kids and cook meals so they where more acustomed to just dealing with it.

Granted a lot of men just dealt with it too but I bet that was a lot more of the men that couldn't afford to take time off work. Long story short give a person an excuse to slack off and be lazy and they will play it up.

I hear it's like one day you're fine, next day you have a fever, next day you can't breathe. But that's if you have it bad. most people don't get it that bad apparently.

I hope that most people only get these mild cases.

This and keep in mind that if you or someone you know gets sick right now it could be corona but it most likely is something else like a cold, late season flu, or related to allergies

I had the allergies last spring.
That was kinda annoying and my nose went from running to being stuffed multiple times a day during the whole spring and partly through the summer.

I hope I don't have to deal with that this year as well but I wouldn't hold my breath.

There was a story on CNN or somewhere (I think it's on more than CNN) about this pastor from NC that went to New Orleans around Mardi Gras in order to bring people to God. He was in good health when he left New Orleans but, half to three quarters of the way to NC, he complained of shortness of breath and other symptoms of Covid-19. He died from Covid-19 in a hospital in NC but Covid-19 only took 24 Hours to manifest itself in his case (why is an excellent question).

Looking at the case of our prime minister boris Johnson, who is now in intensive care, it looks gradual. But its probably different from person to person, specially if you have underlying health conditions.

On the flip-side, your potential future king apparently had it, only had mild symptoms, and is perfectly fine now, in spite of being in his 70s.

Much like the regular flu, it's hard to generalize symptoms and intensity too much, because different people react to things in different ways, so it's hard to say "These are the exact symptoms and the exact degree to which you'll suffer from them for these specific amounts of time" to anyone wondering what to expect if they catch it.

It's gotten worse past 2 days. Was put in hospital and then was moved to intensive care a few hrs ago.

Yeah, that is my point, you can start feeling better, and then just a day later he started to go downhill.

So it can be an up down battle

That's the part that scares me. We're seeing evidence of multiple strains and reports of people that are cleared ending up reinfected. That makes me question if a vaccine is even possible.

Well just look at the 'regular' flu we have every year.
There's a new vaccine being developed every year.
Hopefully, it won't happen with this virus but you never know.

I constantly look back at how good we all really had it before this outbreak.
We could be outside, go to the store, go to friends, etc. Without being extremely anxious about getting infected.

This is why time machines should be invented.

The problem with time travel, is you end up with an infinite recursion of trolls travelling back to the point just before you did.

We're seeing evidence of multiple strains and reports of people that are cleared ending up reinfected.

Most of that data is coming from flawed or unverified sources, though. The prevailing assumption right now is that this is actually a situation where in some cases someone starts to overcome their symptoms and is falsely declared "cured" before the same infection reaggravates and symptoms flare up again, which is something that can easily happen with other strains of the flu.

We have yet to see a proven case of actual strain mutation (yet), which is what is generally required for reinfection to occur. And even if it does mutate, mutation doesn't just mean you can reacquire it, it'll likely also alter other variables like contagion factor and mortality, so even if it does mutate, it might not be a bad thing.

It could certainly happen, though. We'll probably have to wait until next year to see how strong this comes back.

The real problem with time travel is that you eventually wind up with someone going back, changing the past, and altering events to the point where time travel is never invented in the first place.

So even if we lived in a universe where time travel was possible, and where paradox-free altering of the past could occur, any such universe by definition would eventually self-regulate itself to a state where time travel is never invented.
