Right now Kefka just kicked some espers in the trash that he sucked their power out of in the factory. Currently rocking Celes as my main, because Terra isnt available so she seemed the best replacement, with Locke, Edgar, and Cyan with her.

Will gladly turn this into a play through topic and I will post my thoughts up until this point tomorrow after work. So far though it is contending to be my favorite Final Fantasy with 7 and 10 as its competition.

There's a missable character you may want to know about. The event in question happens directly after the one spoiler you know about. I'll include this in spoiler text, just in case, but it really isn't a spoiler and I'm not naming who the character is.

A certain character will leave for a little bit. When you get to the end of the area, wait for that character to come back before leaving.

Haven't gotten to play too much lately, finished up in the factory and went back to Narshe and recruited Mog into my party! Loved the flashback sequence for Terra, figured she was somehow related to an Esper but was surprised that it seems like the Emperor actually raised her from birth. And Im assuming her Mom was killed there as well.

Business sure has picked up, this might surpass Chrono Trigger as my favorite SNES game if it keeps up. I figured the Emperor was playing us for fools but wasnt expecting Leo to die so easily. I wish I didnt know the Kefka twist because Im curious if I wouldve seen it coming. Hes so much more prominent and evil than the Emperor but I could be looking at it the wrong way since I know whats coming.

Anyway just landed after fighting Ultros and Some guy that starts with the C, then the airship battle. The game warns that Kefka and The Emperor are ahead so Im gonna save and stop for today. Went with Terra, Edgar, and Strago as my party. Terra and Edgar seemed like musts but it was hard to choose between Strago, Sabian, Celes, and Cyan.

Thank you, wouldve been bad if I accidentally messed up waiting, which considering I have a tendency to rush sometimes I could see me making that mistake.

So much to take in, I was disappointed when it looked like the magic of the gods killed Gestahl but was glad he spoke again. Then I couldnt help but be shocked and laughed when Kefka just tosses him off the floating continent like hes nothing. That section seemed much more difficult than the rest, actually had to heal constantly and a group of ninjas killed me one time. First time I believe Ive died since the first Ultros battle on the raft.

Anyway fed a bunch of fish to Cid, floated away on the raft and finished for the night.

When you say fed a bunch of fish to Cid and floated away on the raft... there's actually two outcomes that could happen there so you might wanna be specific!

Although the other outcome you really have to actively be aware of and shoot for and really the "default" way it plays it is better anyhow

And yeah, the Floating Continent is a pretty difficult section of the game in my experience.

.... huh. that's... not the usual first timer result without knowing about the possible outcomes in advance. Cid only lives if you feed him fast moving, healthy fish. Otherwise...

Worth watching with the greater emotional weight. Cid living is more of a bonus outcome, it can actually be difficult to trigger even when you know how to do it since there's not always a healthy fish in the waters you may need to exit & return to the beach to refresh the spawn, let alone how the game doesn't explicitly tell you that healthy fish is even a thing.

Now tackling some tomb whose name escapes me now. Nice throwback to the first boss you face with the one monster in a box. So glad Edgar back on the team, Setzer is cool too but I didnt really use him before. Not a big fan of the slots gimmick. Also I feel like The World is Square is a Squaresoft reference that Im not getting.

Also I didnt forget about this game but I played about 3 hours two days ago and somehow didnt save one time. Even though I used like 4 tents during that play through.
