Man, if they fix the sidequest system I will legit put this in my top 5 games ever. They did. It's actually amazing how much they did - both where quests are and where you need to go for them is now highlighted on the map, you can track quests and NPCs, it shows you where named enemies are and when, and probably some other stuff. People are reporting saving literally hours. The funny thing is, when the game originally came out the way it handled side quests was pretty progressive, with the majority autocompleting and it telling you which quests are timed for instance. But there were issues with the tracking which have now been fixed. --- I just decided to change this sig. Blaaaaaaargh Advokaiser ... Copied to Clipboard!

Also, probably my favorite team in an RPG. Things like the Heart-to-Hearts (dozens of scripted dialogue-option interactions between the party members) and the way they speak to and encourage each other during combat goes a long way in making them really feel like a cohesive team tackling a quest together.

I've always been very particular about things in RPGs that annoy the shit out of me, like random encounters, slow battles, and save fatigue being some of the big reasons I've dropped well regarded RPGs in the fast. Xenoblade has very little bullshit in its design, thus far, aside from minor things like being seeming unable to auto-assign equipment when I buy them at the shop. --- Agent Triple Zero at your service! Soundtrack and world map are pretty neat so far. I just got my first party of there so hopefully the combat starts becoming familiar. Voice acting is taking some getting used to. If we're to not be looking at the screen, it'd be hard for me to tell between Shulk and Reyn. I really like the idea of the affinity chart. It doesn't seem like it will have much affect on anything, but seeing a large chart with unique people and connections is exciting to me.

Oh yeah. I turned on Expert mode the moment I started the game. The interesting thing is you still gain sidequest exp in Expert Mode, it's just not automatically assigned. If you feel like you're having trouble you can just dole it out to your characters from whatever you've stored up. So I would highly recommend players use it even if you don't feel like you'll want much more difficulty in the game, because it shouldn't make much of a difference aside from preventing you from accidentally overleveling too much just because you wanted to explore everything. --- Okay, I rolled a 14.
