...it's about the Avatar right after Korra being evil and the protagonists trying to stop him/her.

The earth avatar will take place in a modern setting. Most likely between 1990-2020

Imagine being the Avatar after Korra. She's literally the only person the next Avatar can get advice from. Is that why they turned evil?

That'd be the justification for why it could happen at all. It's a lot harder to be evil when you have hundreds of past lives stopping you.

It would be cool to be honest. Like maybe at a young age something happened and they were able to block out their ancestors, and then because of their avatar powers they just got corrupted and power hungry over time. I forgot how it works but they would need some way to assume direct control over the avatar state and bypass their ancestors or whatever. Bend them to their will. And then yeah just get a bunch of followers and declare war on the world.

But they would have to be willing to kill and be ruthless in doing so. Im not sure if nickelodeon would allow that. Im surprised they allowed the korra season 1 finale

Korra made the link to all the Avatars before her get erased. The next Avatar would just have her.

An evil Avatar could be very, very interesting. That's kind of what Season 2 of Korra seemed to be working toward, but it really fizzled in the end there.

Korra wasn't the god-tier showing that AtLA was, but it's still great. I would have high hopes.

Anyway, it'd be cool to give rise to a threat so immense that it becomes necessary to find a way to restore the chain to previous Avatars. It's thought to be impossible, but many things are thought to be impossible in the Avatar universe until they are done. It's not like Raava knows for a fact it's impossible. Raava knows just as much about it as anyone that's hosted her, and Raava herself has been proven wrong before - by Wan.
