There are 290 municipalities in Sweden.

It is... interesting how huge the differences are regarding this disease.

Most been in eldee care as well. Doest surprise me since a lot of elder care was already knee deep in misery before covid.

Amen.

Elderly care needs to be run on a Regional level at the very least, like all other healthcare. Because having it on a municipal level has not worked at all. That change in the 90s was when elderly care started getting bad.

Nursing homes are essentially just prisons for old people.
They're stuck there, while the staff is free to come and go and bring in contagion that the "inmates" can't avoid.

Very sadly, yes. Nursing homes have become too removed from regular healthcare and is more about storage for elderly than actual nursing. Low salary has led to many homes having more temps than real employees which in turn leads to poor knowledge levels amongst the staff.

The analyses done so far indicate that Swedens deathrate would be about the same even if we had implemented a stricter lockdown since the situation in our nursing homes would be the same.
