Topic title: No, no we don't. I don't wish him death but my brain is not going to feel the slightest bit of sympathy if he has to spend a week or two on a ventilator.

Dude is directly responsible for countless deaths at this point. And not just in the US, around the world people have latched onto his bullshit.

Yeah, I definitely can't feel much sympathy for him here. If it was just "oh he underestimated Covid and is paying for it now" then sure. But no, he underestimated Covid and everyone else paid horribly for it.

And no, the people who believed him aren't at the ones who should be blamed for what they went through. He's the goddamn president of the United States but he acts like a child.

like, my country had a lockdown and we got the virus reasonably under control, then we opened up and now there's new restricting measures because we're getting thousands of new cases a day again. why didn't we get herd immunity after we opened up?

Because you shut down and limited your spread. When you lessen your numbers and start again, you don't get the early initial spike and subsequent steady tail of infections to provide the immunity.

I do think its very treatable and that the panic is misplaced though. Like as someone who has it, do you think thats unfair of me bro?

I am in no place to judge because thanksfully me and my family got it easy

But that doesn't mean it isn't dangerous. If COVID was just what I experienced, of course the panic was not justified. But it isn't - COVID can have complications that are deadly
And thanksfully I didn't experience them

I don't pretend to know what is the real solution to this
I just know that we are in a lose-lose situation and the the only question that needs to be asked is how many deaths do justify a economy lockdown?
I don't think anyone can answer that
