Before you go "blah blah prebuilt", this was easier to get than a 3080 by itself, and I was going to do a new build around the card anyway. Plus I actually got a pretty good price for it.

Think I found a comparable one to TC's on their website...pics look similar to what OP has. It had a 3090 in it initially but dropping it to a 2080 brought the price down to just over ~$2400.

About $2k after taxes and everything. Cost works out about the same as how I'd spec a custom build, although I'd maybe use a slightly higher-end mobo.

Nah. Once real benchmarks come out that aren't from AotS (a heavily AMD-optimized game), I bet the i9 will still be just fine. And even if they are better, the i9 shouldn't be struggling for a long time.

I'm telling you, man...you'd be a-okay for gaming with a 3700x, especially at 1440p or higher. You're paying a $200+ premium for performance gains you'll barely see outside of 1080p.

Cyberpower is solid. I bought a $1200 one at BB a few months back, priced everything out for a build and it was actually cheaper to get the prebuilt. Not sure if that's the same case here

But I still want to play some older games that rely on single threaded performance and Zen 3 is way better for that.

If you aren't talking emulation, you still won't see noticeable gains. You have much more to worry about with W10 compatibility for older stuff than you do single threaded performance.

This is what irks me about prebuilts.

For that money only have 3000mhz Ram? Seriously? And I love how they don't mention how many USB 3.0 there are or what motherboard comes with it. It's a solid build besides those two things. If I were you I'd probably buy faster RAM and maybe a SATA SSD to complement your NVME M.2 SSD.

How's the cable management?

Edit-

Wait. What PSU did they give you?

RAM speed has next to zero effect on real world gaming performance. And I want to say there are four 3.1 Gen 1 (2 front, 2 back) and two 3.1 Gen 2 on the back. I've got a 2nd NVME and a SATA SSD that will be getting installed as well once I have everything from the old machine transferred over.

Edit - Cable management seems fine, most of it is jammed between the main mounting plate and the secondary side panel, which is pretty par for the course.

No labels that I can see on it without pulling it out of the case entirely. I already have a support ticket filed to figure that out though, and will be replacing it if it isn't a Seasonic-manufactured brand.

Corsair are Seasonic-manufactured. Not sure on Cooler Master's. I'm paranoid when it comes to PSUs and really only trust Seasonic.

Something in the ASUS Prime line IIRC. Probably would have done something in the ROG line if I custom built it, but I'm not planning any heavy overclocking so I'm fine with it.

For GPU, MSI. Second-to-last on my preferred options, but I'll still take it miles ahead of Zotac.

Nice, I have the G512 and G502 HERO. I dont get people that say its too heavy. When you take all the weights off, its pretty light. Makes me wonder if the other mice that people like over the G502 are even lighter then.

Nice. When the 3000 series are available I gotta get one that is at or under 315mm of clearance because of my case (Fractal Meshify C). It limits my options. I know founders is the right size but it limits me on the after market.

I saw a post on reddit that listed all the lengths. I can do EVGA, MSI Trio, Gigabyte Windforce and PNY. Everything else exceeds 315mm. That or buy a new case. God damn it...
