They eat other baby snails and keep the population down, and they have a real long elephant nose like that, and it slips into the baby snail shell to eat them up. I know it sounds mean, but if you get these trumpet snails in your tank, they reproduce 50+ at a time weekly, and you can have an infestation of thousands in a couple weeks, and they ruin your tank.
