Just curious how everyone is feeling. I honestly think it's gonna be a Biden win with some grumbling then a return to pre-Trump business, which was still lame, and then things will keep getting worse until boomers are a minority.

I haven't given a shit about previous US elections. This one, I do.

Like it or not, the US is the nation that leads western philosophy and ideals. In many ways, they represent the west. With the current senile, lying, racist fuck head in charge of the leading western nation, it makes ALL western nations look bad by comparison.

Furthermore, Trump's bullshit flavour of fascism is spreading to other western countries. Canadian conservative politicians in particular have started pushing this shit, forgetting that we're not the United States, nor, pray to God, we ever will be.

If Trump wins, the fall out will be the continued decline of the west. If Trump loses, the fall out will probably be mostly contained to the US, possibly in the form of right wing white nationalist terrorism.

And with all the mail in ballots... well those probably won't even be completely sorted out until weeks after the election, possibly months. There's a solid chance this election ends up in the supreme court which is part of the reason that I believe republicans really want to confirm barrett

In all honesty, despite my personal dislike of Trump, I am a big fan of him standing up to the CCP. I find it hard to believe Biden won't bow his head to corporate interests and let the concentration camps, invasion of Taiwan, etc. go unanswered for. Maybe I am wrong, and everyone has changed their tune on that regime now, but I have this bad feeling that Taiwan has a better chance of being defended with Trump than with Biden. War is coming, and it's better to face it when your opponent is weak. If France and the UK said no to Hitler when he remilitarized the Rhineland, WWII would've likely not happened. There'd have been some minor regional stuff in a couple hotspots, maybe.

To be my own devil's advocate though, Biden will repair international relations by and large that Trump devastated. So a united front in that way is a better deterrent.

One thing trump actually brought up in the debate that I hadn't thought is just how terrible international relations were with the Obama adminstration. That, imo, is actually a strength of trump's. With the obama administration, we had the crimea situation, NK was constantly threatening military action, and mercilessly expanded our activity in the ME to devastating effect. I feel like, with biden, we'll see a resurgence of that sort of activity

I'm American, and I'm terrified. I think the result would be one or more of the poll choices because bad things will always happen and never go away while good things will never happen. If they happen, then it's too good to be true and will be gone right away and replaced with something much worse. Things will always get worse, never better. If they get better, then it's too good to be true and will suddenly get much worse than they've ever been.
