Is it necessary to run around the monastery talking to everyone every time I'm there, or do I pretty much finish using up my activities and finish the day?

Good question. I dont think its necessary but I always run around and talk to everyone. There are usually conversations that can increase your support rank. So thats why I do it

Resting on off days for 5 durability on your sword is such a waste. Why even bother when you can repair it to full and you can do other stuff on that day off?

There is reason to bother when you've finally gotten tired of the menial chores in exploring and realize that the motivation gain and resources saved from resting are more than good enough for clearing the game on Maddening difficulty with ease

Story question. Ill just put it all in spoilers.

To start off, Im not done with this mission yet. Im at the halfway point when the boss changes and I had to bookmark it to go to work.

So the boss was Monica which wasnt a surprise that was coming. She also revealed she was disguised as Kronya which isnt a surprise that wasnt the real Monica. After you beat her you get this cutscene which was pretty brutal. She gets her heart ripped out and crushed? I mean damn.

I didnt like her for obvious reason but I dont get why I didnt rewind time as soon as I was watching what was happening. No way we wouldnt have. Also, I felt even worse when she was begging for help.

There is no way she is just dead and thats the end right? Her backstory has to be quite interesting. I also want more info on that dagger she uses. She seems like the type that can eventually fight for our side. Are they really going to end her here and thats it?

Kronya is dead.

Some named enemies have weapons that the player will never access such as Kyonra's sword.

Byleth's time powers are never brought up outside of the cutscene with Kronya killing Jeralt you saw. It pretty much only exists to justify the in game mechanic of turning back turns.

I guess you guys werent kidding about not being able to recruit characters from the enemy because that felt like a classic scenario.

About her weapon... Im pretty sure they made a pretty big deal about it. For them to not acknowledge it or give out a back story on that weapon or the series of weapons they use feels like a missed opportunity.

Also, the game just ignores the time reversal ability in the plot? Thats dumb. It felt very important story wise and it help establish how different the main character was from everyone else. To just not use it anymore in the story is a massive opportunity lost IMO.

It is going to be interesting to see how they continue to shoehorn turn reversals going forward, because I don't think that is a feature that will be going away, but they are already stretching an in game excuse for it pretty thin.

Honestly the time mechanic doesn't need a justification for it to exist. But if they really need to justify it, just do what they did when they introduced the mechanic in Echoes.

In Echoes, you pick up Mila's Turnwheel as an item and find cogs to increase the uses. A few NPCs make comments about the item, but otherwise it never played an important role.

Gameplay and characters remain good, though and that's the game's strengths.

They could just remove it. I think the game would be better without it.

On a side note, the Hard Mode on this game is still very easy IMO. I feel like Im really over leveled as a whole while the stats are crazy high. I feel like I have end game level characters before even hitting double digit chapters in the story. It isnt like Im fighting every week either. I have a ton of support conversations on stand by until I advance the story far enough. I honestly feel that FE7 Eliwood normal mode was more difficult.

I know there is another difficulty but they patched that into the game later right? If so, then this was the hardest in the Vanilla version which.. yea.. The time reversal feature is the most absurd part. I thought they would have compensated by making it harder in general. Its like Im playing an easier version of Sacred Stones with the ability to reverse time added.

Sorry for that being kinda ranty. Im still greatly enjoying the game. The difficulty on Hard Mode may not be to my liking but Im greatly enjoying other aspects of the game

Its crazy because they give you a bunch and you seem to be able to rewind back as far as you want. Its so OP

They do give an absurd number of them. Like yes, it is nice to be able to reverse the occasional 1% crit, but they give so many that I'll use them just to mess around. Shit like "I wonder if I can just throw Dimitri into the middle of a dozen enemies and have him live". Turns out he could, but still, It was risky and statistically unlikely.

Yea Ive done that a few times too lol. The hardest part of this game so far was the Eagles vs Lions chapter. THAT was some real fun with people actually dying. I didnt let that happen because of the rewind but it was crazy.

That is one of the chapters where your people can 'die' without losing them. Since it is a school exercise.

Im given the choice of protect Edelgard or kill her. Im assuming this is where things branch. If I protect her Im assuming Ill go back to the Empire. I dont know if all my students will become my enemies. I dont know which path is the true path. I dont know what to do

I think I might side with Edelgard. I just don't know what that means for all my students in the future. That is the main thing holding me back. I actually got to the point where I care about all my students which is quite the achievement for this game.

I actually do after all the support conversations. It's crazy. I thought he was just an idiot. However, he isn't as stupid as I thought he was and is a good guy. I also feel like I need to protect Flayn. She feels more important to me than the others. Like I adopted her or something. I don't want to go down a path that leads to me splitting up from her and potentially killing her Brother/Father.

Why not? That seems odd. Why would they prevent you from having 2 different save files?

When you beat the game if you want to go into NG+ it uses the savefile you just beat as the basis for what is unlocked in NG+, meaning if you run two different save files and you want to do NG+ after beating one, or both, you have to pick one of them as your base.

That is just the hardest mode of the same story right? I would get to choose a path again correct? If so, I might as well do both paths and then I'll know which path I prefer when I do another run.

New Game+ is actually an entirely new playthrough. The difference is that you're carrying over things like skills you learned and you can buy them instantly if you want, if you have the renown points. Difficulty is a separate thing.

You can keep saving over your old files and everything you do is carried over. So like if you had your Sword rank at S+, you can instantly buy that in the new playthrough. And if you get Authority to S+ in that playthrough, you can buy Sword and Authority S+ in the next playthrough etc.

The best argument for split saves for Black Eagles is it saves you having to do all those chapters over again with the same story and the same cast.

But yeah, you are going to lose the data on one of them for NG+ purposes.

Im so glad I made 2 save files.

I never trusted Rhea and it seems that was well founded. I feel bad for Flayn. It seems she is getting caught in the middle. Also... MOST OF MY STUDENTS FOLLOW ME REGARDLESS?! I would have been so pissed if I didnt make 2 files and fought for the Church. I was so certain that all my students would leave me if I followed Edelgard. I was 100% wrong on that. The Edelgard route looks far more interesting already.

The fact that your house doesn't leave regardless is why I said it wasn't as bad as it seemed. Logically, they wouldn't make you take such a heavy hit due to the nature of Fire Emblem games.

You're right, Rhea did nothing wrong and Edelgard is literally Hitler, her route was clearly an afterthought and blatantly unfinished, and the story in her route bends over backwards to make it seem like she isn't an evil piece of shit. I have no idea why people try to justify her when three out of four routes show what an awful human being she is.

TC I dunno if you look at the spoilers. I tend to not put true spoiler spoiler things when I post them, just stuff you might not want to know, but I wouldn't really consider spoilers to know.
