the difference being those guys were actually terrorists. Ive yet to see any evidence this was a terrorist and not just some suicidal techie who wanted to be famous before he died and figured a bomb on Christmas would get attention

Nicest terrorist ever, not many bombings come with an evacuation announcement. His goal wasn't to kill, it was probably some delusion led him to what he believed to be a heroic act. Really hard to say but terrorist kinda fits well enough for me

Considering the bomb went off with 3 minutes remaining on it's count down I think there was a more sinister goal.

Can assume it was some type of elaborate suicide. Maybe just wanted attention after he offed himself and decided a bombing on Christmas day would get it.

100% would be called a terrorist attack if he were brown or muslim.

I mean a blaring warning for people to get to safety is kind of the opposite of a terrorist attack. You need a purposeful motive to scare and/or kill people, so that will have to be determined if he left evidence behind. The guy is still an absolute shitbag who could have very easily killed people, but the intent is what ultimately makes a terrorist attack.

I've heard it suggested that the call to evacuate was a rouse to lure more people outside. That the explosion went off well before the announcement said it would, to kill people who thought they had more time to flee the scene.

But I've only heard it second hand and haven't looked into it to confirm.

I was under the impression that a "terrorist attack" had to have a religious or political agenda.

This person just seemed to want attention while going out.

I mean I'm not seeing any religious, political or social demands made by the bomber.
