100% Kassandra. She was played by the better actor. Alexios sounds like such a Himbo Canned Ham the way he was played.

I guess it depends how you're going to play though. If you're looking for a serious playthrough (as serious as a game like this can be at least), then Kassandra.

If you're looking to screw around have aimless fun and just be silly then Alexios might fit.

as a side note, it's interesting that the majority of CE tends to pick female characters when it's an option. I always thought femshep was the most popular choice in mass effect because of posts here, and then bioware reveals that 82% of players picked male shepard. kind of the same for odyssey. everyone here says kassandra but like 2/3rds of players picked alexios

I mean I liked Alexis as protagonist, but Kassandra was better. Plus, I liked Alexios in the other role compared to Kassandra.

To be fair with Kassandra people pick her cuz she's the canonical charater lore wise, Alexios is the more likeble one though. Ubisoft needs to stop with that shit they did it with the vikings too, female name but gender selection choices is dumb just make a fleshed out charater not two half assed blank sleights

For the Mass Effect remaster I plan on rolling with a femshep this time around, or at least for my first/insane playthrough assuming the achievements are the same.

As others have said Kassandra is cannon as she is referred to several times in conversations that take place in Valhalla. But either one is fine. I think Female Eivor is probably also cannon but I went Male this time around as I love that actor from The Last Kingdom.

When I made my choice it was based around some light research. I watched a few non spoiler videos to verify what I had heard from others who played already. I had heard that Kassandra was the better character because the actress who voiced her was better. The videos I found verified that. It made it hard for me to imagine playing as Alexios because he sounded like a goofball, and I didn't want to play as a corny over the top ham. I have no ill will towards anyone who chooses differently. Play the way you want to play because it allows for divergent play styles. I just wanted a more serious playthrough and felt Kassandra would give me that.

I did prefer Evie Frye over her brother because he seemed like more of a screwup.

I haven't got to Valhalla yet, but when I do I'll do a bit of research and find out which version was better played before I do.

They are doing it for woke points thats why. There were no Spartan or Viking female warriors in the first place. I'm sure someone will find one cherry picked example to act like it was a normal thing now however. Aside from them sanitizing the Vikings by ignoring that their whole way of life was to rape, murder, and pillage their way across Europe. The Vikings were never the good guys.

According to history channel they were mostly farmers that just dabbled in rape and pillaging. Lol

The Vikings show? I never have gotten around to watching it. I just heard the theme song from it for the very first time from a YouTuber I listen to. Or her version of it anyway, but personally after having listened to the original after I think hers is way better.

When you play Valhalla, save often and make multiple saves. They might have fixed some of the bugs, but theres some major ones.

Valhalla endgame-ish spoilers, no names tho
Dont turn in your last order tokens before the end game. I think its the 5th time you bring them in. Itll bug out and technically ruin the last guy for you and then make it so you cant do the final epilogue. Also cant have Thors hammer for the end game content, so up to you

Valhalla did fuck up in a multitude of ways, but you're just being a neckbeard about the Spartan end, where the whole thing with Kass avoids ever necessitating that she is a Spartan proper. She's a merc.

How does anything change then? There weren't female mercs either. They are literally only doing it because Twitter whined about "representation" in historical based games where there were no female fighters, and then proceded to not play the game after Ubisoft gave in. This is proven by the fact that the vast majority of people played Alexios. This happens all the damn time. The people that whine have no actual interest in these products, they just want to try and ruin it for those that do.

Thanks! I'm still a while away from picking it up so hopefully they fix that stuff.. but it's Ubisoft so I know how that goes lol.
