I am conflicted on whether to build Klee or wait for the new pyro character.

She is a 4* and her kit seems awkward?
AFAIK Yanfei is basically a pyro Ningguang. Catalysts in general tend to be bad at dealing with airborne enemies too, though, and there's no way Yanfei will even get close to Klee's dps and utility.

The new pale flame set is strictly better than gladiator if you can maintain 100% uptime + no imbues. This means not Diluc, Hu Tao, Xiao, Childe, etc but can be used for Eula, Keqing, Zhongli, Xinyan, Razor, and a few others.

How would Ayaka be amongst leaks when she and Inazuma arent even in beta (afaik)? There's enough time to buff her, Mihoyo tends to continue changing stuff in testing until like 2-3 weeks remain iirc.

Also, while I agree Ayaka is absolutely the worst 5* main dps right now, she does seem to have an edge against Keqing. Electro is the 2nd-worst element and has no amplify. Cryo is the 2nd-best element coz it has melt and freeze.

These leaks probably come from datamines which would be old data. You need to assume the 1.6 beta data will have a more accurate representation of her final kit. For example Pale flame artifacts got datamined early as 6% 3 stacks and late in the 1.5 beta it got changed to 9% 2 stacks.

Yes, but IIRC Ganyu kept changing even until (or during) update release and Hu Tao needed the Keqing banner for +1 week. I remember her getting a burst energy or cooldown decrease pretty late.
I imagine Ayaka will get a very large change on her kit, or an overall increase in damage multipliers

I still won't trusth these leaks much until Zeniet speaks tho.

I seriously fucking hate F12 and F11-2.
Please Mihoyo, switch them to the brand-new enemies next update, effective on first abyss rotation week.

I don't know what happened, but at some specific point in gearing up Tartaglia, he went from kind of mediocre to absolutely batshit OP.

We're talking 2000+ DMG like five times per second, then huge Riptide explosions and whatnot

Klee is limited so she's impossible to get right now. Of the free characters, Kaeya & Noelle are the best DPS. The electro archer girl is one of the best supports in the game.

Noelle is a good DPS assuming you're C6 and have a battery like Fischl.

And have good gear.

But admittedly, if you have all that she's kind of amazing.

The C6 is "just" an extra 50% of defense as attack (+ potential time extension). She's serviceable without it. You'll need a backup during burst downtime though.

Certainly for anything except the abyss, Noelle is in my opinion the best overall character in the entire game for progression. She's basically unkillable, extremely defensive, can heal the party, deal consistent DPS, and is a reliable switch in when things get dicey.

And C6 Noelle is my staple character in The Abyss itself. She is so good in almost every situation, but especially on floor 12.

Critrate+Critdmg+ATK% balance. He's really great when you get his artifacts right. And don't forget those crazy melee burst hits.

Save up long-term and pay attention who will on banner next through news or leaks.
Klee will probably come on June 9th? (theory and leak, so don't bet on it, but it's Klee's turn to get a rerun soon)

Otherwise you need to get lucky and get someone like Diluc, Keqing (great early bloomer, but she becomes kinda underwhelming in endgame) on any character banner. The character you got, Fischl, can become a good sub or main dps too, but it probably takes some effort for that to happen?

It's weird, pretty much all the other characters I've used have had a pretty steady increase in viability and damage output as I geared them up. Tartaglia is the first one to suddenly light up and wreck face like that.

There's 2 ways to do Tartaglia. You can either go all in on melee attacks or you can just pull him out to do a stacked burst oneshot. Less reliable and takes more set-up.

It could also be enemy type. Tartaglia will be pretty great against pyro, as you'd expect.
But yeah, it's possible you did a big upgrade without paying too much attention to it (like raising a critrate artifact to +20, or increasing his hydro damage% through artifacts or level ups). Or you put someone like Fischl, Xiangling on your team to boost him.
