Jiek_Fafn 03/09/21 6:28:33 PM #1:	Is there a term for when someone will redefine an argument, by either saying what it's "really" about or redefining a definition and then proceeding to make an argument from there? It's not quite goalpost moving but close. You'll see it all the time in Tucker Carlton stuff or Glenn Beck. They'll tell you that Starbucks not saying Merry Christmas is "really" an assault on morality, etc. Carlton just had a thing on how canceling Dr. Seuss is really trying to cancel golden era morals or something. He essentially redefines terms until they lose any original meaning instead of letting an argument stand on it's own. Saying that someone is doing X as a broader campaign of Y isn't "redefining the argument" and is not bad in a vacuum.
