As someone who got it once it was out on PC, it is one of the best values in gaming, and one of the most positive things I've seen a company do with a series.

You playin 1 on classic or new graphics? Doesn't matter much, you can switch anytime, but I'm interested what people like.
And yeah, I heard the 2014 console launch was shit. But for me as a Halo fan who didn't own an Xbox since 360, I've been loving MCC on PC. I wish more companies would follow the model of "Everything from the entire series in one game". Like, this and Smash Ultimate pulled it off. I mean, I know Halo 5's not there, but it's pretty close. Making this one game a platform for Halo content. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Well, "new" in the not original Xbox sense. I actually beat Halo CE on launch day in 2001. Played the entire game through with a friend. It was a real pants-shitting experience after a half-decade with N64 graphics. --- Razer Blade 15 - Core i7-9750H, 32 GB RAM (2666), RTX 2080 MQ ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah I can see why you'd want to try the new graphics if you haven't before.
Halo 1's remaster, it's a bit too polished and colorful, in a lot of places it doesn't match Halo 1's style. But it is pretty at times. Halo 2's upgrade though, it's nearly perfect. Matches the art of Halo 2 perfectly while making it look like an 8th gen game. It was a different team handling it, and you can tell they cared a lot more. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Halo 5 would be incredible on PC because the multiplayer is great. I do hope they bring it there eventually just so the whole series will be on PC.
As far as remastered vs. classic graphics, I generally like the remastered graphics. I do think in certain areas they kind of ruin the atmosphere of the game though. Like 343 Guilty Spark looks really nice in remastered, but the level isn't quite the same when you can see Flood Combat Forms walking around clear as day before you're supposed to. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> ... Nah it's not that uncommon a sentiment. Most of the Arbiter levels kinda suck. Halo 1 is an unusually well-paced game, especially for the era. There is so much variety in the world design, and just enough exploration to make it feel organic without making it feel too non-linear. The weapons feel great, too. Handgun cannon, at least. Apparently, the actual game was slapped together at the very last minute from bits and pieces of previously failed projects, just to meet the Xbox launch deadline. That's so crazy to think about in retrospect, considering how polished it was. --- Razer Blade 15 - Core i7-9750H, 32 GB RAM (2666), RTX 2080 MQ ... Copied to Clipboard!
