Was he mad about that? Because most people I've seen love that they're adding things like that.

Oh he loved it, his only concern about a scene like that is that in the comics omni-man gets redeemed for all the bad shit he did, but he apparently never massacred that many peoole in the comics. A scene like the train scene just makes that redemption harder to do...if they go that route.

I hope they go a significantly different route than the comics because the comic takes a really dumb direction. The poster above mentions it in a spoiler tag.

I think Robert Kirkman mentioned that his writing has grown and matured since he first wrote Invincible so a lot of the story is gonna be changed around.

Yeah, it's hard for me to see Omni-Man being redeemed from that lol

I think the creators view the redemption/easily forgiven story as bad writing. TBH, even though he never committed a massacre on earth it was strange how Mark forgives him pretty much instantly when they meet again and even helps his new family and kid.

Omniman is a Superman type (tights and cape, strong, flies) and also Earth's greatest hero. He's also an alien who claims he was sent by his people to help underdeveloped planets. He has a teenage son with an earth woman who is basically learning to use his powers in season 1, and goes by the hero name Invincible. There's a knockoff Justice League called the Guardians of the Globe, that Omniman murders in the first episode and the rest of the season is about characters figuring who killed them. Omniman gets publicly outed as a dick and we learn he wasn't sent to help out planet but conquer it and then he had a bogus change of heart after remembering watching his son play T-ball. It's pretty good until that last bit, which is as dumb as the infamous Martha scene.

Also, one character that needs to be changed totally is Anissa. She's the last female viltrumite yet they treat her as a common soldier and risk her in every battle. She is made to reproduce with humans when she is the last pure viltrumite womb in existence and should be Thragg's wife. Her raping Mark was just for shock value and the whole story around her needs to be scrapped or changed to make sense.

I wouldnt say bogus. It seemed like his only change of heart was beating his son to death. Not his entire goals and convictions. Unless that does end up being the case then yeah bogus.

in the comics, he basically denounces violence and goes to live on a planet that makes the oldest person the leader.... and since he's thousands of years old he becomes the de facto ruler lol.

He's a fugitive and would be executed on sight now by Viltrum for desering his duty. He doesn't have an instant about face, and never becomes an actual human loving straight faced Superman. Just becomes a better person.

But yeah, going through the history of all the characters, damn, it's really expansive.

The best part of it is that those side characters are all freaking amazing. They also have a ton of spinoffs for some of those characters which are great too.

This is one of those things where I'm having such a hard time staying on topic reading the wiki because I read something interesting about a side character then need to read up on that side character, only to later on get distracted about reading about another side character. I had a million tabs open.

With the exception of the Justice League ripoff, every single character gets their own expansive story. It's amazing what was written here.

There is a wiki with a reading timeline of where to go from the main series to the spinoffs. I followed it to a T and it made the world so rewarding. I would suggest finding the comics wherever you can and just diving headfirst into them all. They are all good save for one series. It's the one with the superhero that are only heroes from 9-to-5 or whatever. Edit: Capes. The Rex Splode/Atom Eve and Guarding the Globe spinoffs are top-tier.

It's really helpful. Especially when certain characters like Tech Jacket and Wolf-Man appear. If you don't know their stories, you would be basically lost.

It gives incredible backstories to others like Brit (the man), Atom Eve (loved her already), and Rex Plode (totally changed my opinion of him)

I finally saw the episode where he's in there. He comes back in the comics. And he gets a LOT of focus. Those scenes where he kicks Mark and friends' asses though? He's a LOT stronger than that. Like.....Omni-man's power level or higher at least int he books.

He's also one of the most beloved characters in the series. I haven't seen anyone say anything bad about Battle Beast. Maybe the only bad thing is that he didn't get a spinoff?

I've been going through the wiki about it, completely spoiling it for myself. And holy f***, this universe is f***ing massive. Like, not DC or Marvel big, but still really f***ing big. I can't believe I have never heard of it until the animated show.

Same here, I didn't hear ANYTHING about this series existing at all until this show. I've heard of the Boys comics, but not Invincible and it's got great world building with excellent characters.
