He doesn't have time to be more involved with the channel because the stuff he does do takes ages because he doesn't know how to do things like work with a computer properly and won't let other people help or "change his process". Love or hate the Screenwave people, you don't think they know enough to have tried to streamline the stuff he's involved in? You think Mike never said anything? Then with the allegations that Bootsy and Kyle Justin both got stiffed on money, I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for James.

Unless you have a partner who makes enough money for you to be stay at home mom or dad, everyone with kids works and has to feed their family. If James worked for somebody else and they saw how much time he was wasting working inefficiently, he'd have been canned by now. Not paying people for their work--especially longtime friends--is the worst. The announced Mike leaving with no fanfare, almost as an aside. Did James finally stiff him too?

I just dont get how that James guy has a humongous VHS and DVD library (the size of a real video store) yet made a whole rant topic video about how much better streaming is better than Blu Ray. Well, maybe if you already have an average fidelity physical collection numbering in the thousands.

Dammit, both could be true.

He's not the only person on YouTube that I watch. I'd rather him continue making quality content but I know what it's like being an artist that has to pay the bills.

I still think AVGN is rad. He's a cult hit and always will be.

I used to watch his vids as a kid but I couldn't care less lol. His Sega CD and 32X reviews are still my favorites.

What a great video. Im glad James has finally answered the questions at the end (even though the answers have been painfully obvious to the rational side of the fanbase lol).

My real beef is his setup. Surely he could simplify it a lot and have a setup he doesnt have to deconstruct whenever hes not doing a couch shot right?

That embarrassing onion gag frustration blooper was honestly more entertaining than most recent avgn videos.

The out of touch fans love to cry that Screenwave is ruining the channel, but putting out 3 videos a year would actually kill the channel. AVGN is his livelihood, and you just dont make money off of YouTube by producing so little content.

I personally do not agree with Bootsy here. If he knew how youtube monetization works, you have to put a lot of ads in your video, because not all of them show up on the video. If you put 6 ad breaks, you may only see 1 or 2. So a lot of content creators put in a lot of ads so that you see 3 or 4 ads (which is a acceptable amount).

I think he's earned the right after 15 years to not give a shit. I wish he'd just say that but you can see it if you read between the lines, he only wants to do enough to get by. The constant excuses are really annoying though. His technical setup is maddening. Seems almost like the dude invents problems for himself so he can feel justified in the strange decisions that come from them.
