The same excuses they always have? "Paid off", "liberal agenda", "government bodies wanting to control us", or they'll find some BS online that actually the FDA unrightfully approved it despite it mutating your DNA into a slimy monster creature or something.

I don't know what it'll be, but they will find one.

Remember: The reasoning they give is usually not their actual reasoning. For a very small number it could indeed be they've heard that claim from established anti-vaxxers and are clinging to it alone, but for the most part, they've picked the conclusion first and then looked for reasons that support it, rather than the other way around. (On a side note, this is true for many crazy ideologies, on both the left and the right, not just this one. A very, very strong indicator of this mentality is when someone treats just one or two examples as "undeniable proof".)

If you want to deal with them, there's two options. Option one is to find out the actual root cause of their issue (which for some of them is purely "they're trying to grift" and you can't do shit about those, but many do have a genuine and understandable concern behind all the nonsense, and it may be possible to convince them to smarten up by addressing their actual concern), option two is to take the easy route and just mandate they get the damn shot and lock them up if they don't. And at this point, I think it's time to just go with the latter.

Tbh I don't think FDA approval holds as much weight after their decision to fast track demonstrably ineffective medication and then several career employees resigned as a result.

They shot their own credibility down with that. Especially since their own advisors recommended against that action.

Anyway I don't think everyone there is corrupt but I can easily see that being a talking point.

oh thats a good point, but these people are hinging on the fact that this isnt FDA approved so when the announcement does come down theyll just move the goal post
