Because Blu doesn't seem to want to actually inform anyone, I tried it, and it automatically fills in the selected cell with the current date (as a date, not =TODAY()). Nifty. It's not going to save me a huge amount of time, by any means, but I'll certainly be able to use it.

Didn't know it, but I guess it's a little useful. Excel has a ton of shortcuts, most of which I probably don't know. And MS Word is just convoluted at this point, which is why I prefer Apache OpenOffice.

Word also crashes on me 3-4 times per week. (Technically it's MS Office that crashes, but it's always the Word side that does it.)

Didn't know it, but I guess it's a little useful.

When I'm writing a report in an excel sheet, I need to tell what the day is. So rather than typing 9/18/2021, hitting a shortcut seems decent to me. I can write up, like, 5 reports in a day, so, hey, that's a whole 20 seconds saved.

it just makes my excel zoom in

Oh yeah I forgot to say it adds the date in.

Mostly worthless since it doesn't insert the date in ISO format.

I'm guessing there is somewhere to change this, though. I haven't looked that hard.

IIRC it's like Ctrl-: for date and Ctrl-Shift-: for time (or something)

a way more useful one is Alt-= which will generate a sum formula for the selected range automatically, either below the selected range or to the right, depending where the selection is (you can generate column totals, row totals, and a grand total all at once if you select one more row and column than the range of values)
