I always end up choosing the wrong lane

When my son bugs me to go, we head to the one lane Mickey Ds downtown

I dont mind them if they are organized well. The only drive thru that really grinds my gears are those ones that are a single lane path and once you're in, you're in. There was a Wendys like that near me that their CC machine broke all the time. As I don't carry cash I was stuck behind people and couldn't order.

There's a burger king here like that. I think it's purposely designed that way. You're stuck so you may as well order.

So true for me, too. I have accepted it as inevitable now, so I don't even try to pick a lane strategically.

Yep

You'd think driving into the opposite lane of the guy in front of you would mean you'd be ordering after him, but more times than not he and then the guy behind him manages to place their orders and you're still waiting
