$120...for 1 whole terabyte...to accomodate PS5 read speeds?

Yeah something tells me this fucker will fry, crash, or make me constantly paranoid about its true stability every time it boots up.

*Edit*
The manufacturer even confirmed it doesn't meet the minimum speeds to function effectively on PS5.

As a PC gamer that sounds like bullshit to me. Why would a slower read speed on the hard drive mean anything but slightly longer load times? Its still an NVME hard drive even if it isn't a higher speed one.

nvme is bandwidth far far far faster than even the fastest SSD so any performance impact will be felt. It's not like SATA SSDs where the bandwidth is so slow the speed of the SSD doesn't matter unless it's in raid.

Didn't Linus' testing indicate that the PS5 is very forgiving on SSD performance?

Yes, generally speaking as long as it's a generation 4 drive that's faster than Gen 3 typical speeds, it tends to work fine. Digital foundry even got a drive that runs at gen 3 speeds and it still worked.

Don't know. I get my tech shit from Digital Foundry and last I heard, nothing seemed concrete enough to make a judgment with my wallet until more companies make drives for PS5.
I'll look for his testing vid though.
