I have zero faith in the Spy x Family anime.

I was wondering if anyone would ever make another anime topic.

Hello again everyone, it is I, Robazoid. I know I haven't been around in here at all the last two years but I'm planning to get back into anime at least a little bit in the new year.

I'm debating if I should get a Crunchyroll subscription again or if I should sift through whatever Netflix and Amazon Prime has to offer first. Netflix doesn't seem to have the best anime selection though. 7 Seeds seemed neat... oh, 6.5 on MAL. The insect Cagaster anime seemed neat... oh, 6.5. Meh.

Hopefully Crunchy still has a better selection!

Both of those anime are hilariously bad, lol. Netflix anime is totally in the shitter.

Funimation has been dumping out the big bucks a lot of exclusivity over the last year, if you're looking to just browse for new stuff it's the safer bet, but there's still plenty on Crunchy as well.

Netflix has all of Jojo on it. Baki is fairly fun also.

Made in Abyss is the best anime on Prime. Eva Rebuild is up there too.

Funimation was the dub site back when I watched and I'm a sub guy. They ended their partnership with Crunchy since then, though, so surely they must have subs. I'll check out what they have. (I'm hilariously out of date on the anime landscape, don't mind me)

I see on Crunchy that Laid-Back Camp got a second season, though! I could use a fun cute girls anime after the nightmare that was 2021

Funimation still has the most dubs (well, HiDive as well), but they always have the subbed version.

Is the next season of Attack on Titan really the end, or is there reason to think they might stretch it out again? I've been putting off watching it until the anime finishes and want to know if I can start it soon.

Was going to pick up Serial Experiment Lain bluray but it's out of stock and the up charge is ridiculous (90 bucks) . Same goes for Baccano, which I WOULD pay 90 bucks for on bluray, but not over $200.

actually I think most of the aniplex stuff is discounted - 30 dollars off of the big box sets and 10 off of smaller sets like each part for Owarimonogatari or Kizumonogatari (which would make it 30 dollars off the whole thing).

Baccano is straight up out of print at Aniplex. They no longer even list in on the website, pretty sure it's completely unlicensed at this time.

Meanwhile the region 2 blurays is region locked....and readily available for $40.

But yeah there are markdowns on Aniplex for almost everything, meaning the prices have gone from absolutely fucking disgusting to to just regularly fucking disgusting.

That KnK box set is hundreds of dollars less on rightstuf versus when Aniplex had it.

The unfortunate thing here is that from what I can tell Recalled Out Summer is just completely unavailable, even for some ridiculous resale markup. No copies for sale, 100% sold out.

Luffy didn't fight Doflamingo at all until the end though, right? Aren't we on our 3rd Luffy vs Kaido matchup now. 3rd time's the charm!

but yeah King, Queen, Jack and the Tobi Roppo are pretty much done so it should just be Big Mom and Kaido the rest of the way

I'm considering everything with Law and Trebol not part of the "final fight." But it was a pretty continuous fight.

I think the pattern that's more important is that Luffy doesn't win right after the rest of the crew does.
He either outright loses (Croc) or fails to defeat his opponent (Enel) and has some moment where he's on the backfoot and needs assistance (Lucci, Doffy).

I also believe in the the theory that we'll get a full SH vs. Kaido or Big Mom portion. They are all way too healthy for the most part.

Through Volume 3 of my RWBY rewatch...so freaking good.

I haven't been watching anime much at all lately.

I did look at the (currently airing) fantasy anime with the really long title about the guy getting banished from the hero's party, and to my surprise it is actually somewhat good.

I've been trying to follow what the really well-received shows are, but from this year either I've been completely uninterested, or I gave the show a try and thought it was bad. The one notable exception was Odd Taxi which to be fair was quite good, but I have to wonder if I'm just not interested in the medium anymore.

Finished Spider Isekai. I liked it. Don't know if I like it enough to pick up the novels, but I definitely would have liked it more if it were animated better. Any idea if it is close to finishing?

Gonkutsuo is in a wierd position that a really awful person I used to know told me to watch it constantly so it's, like, tainted.

Just gotta get over it.

Gankutsuou was fantastic. I also really liked Welcome to the NHK.

Overall I was never a fan of Gonzo though tbh. Maybe at first it was unearned, but my view of them has been tarnished ever since watching Full Metal Panic.

...and actually even in the 2000's it looks like they were responsible for Saikano and Bokurano which are 2 of my least favorite anime of all time, so no I'm just going to go with them always being awful. (Though I watched those much more recently)

Bokurano isn't one of the worst anime ever, but it is one of the worst adaptations ever. It's why it's my most "hated" anime, even if not the worst I've seen. The director openly disliked the manga, which was VERY good.

I go back and forth between it an Promised Neverland S2 for all time worst adaptations. Plenty of series trump both in technical embarrassment, but the incompetence on display when actually having resources to avoid such an issue makes it worse. Umineko at least has the benefit of being hilariously bad, making fun of it alleviates how awful it is.

The Neuro anime is up there to. Still haven't forgiven Madhouse for that one.

I mean I've only rated four anime ever at a 2/10 or below and that's one of them. I don't know anything about the manga and obviously have no intention of ever giving it the time of day.

The Bokurano anime is the equivilant of a Netflix live action anime adaptation.

Though the gap in quality is larger than the difference between NF Cowboy Bebop and Death Note were from their source materials.

So I finally read the entire Domestic Girlfriend manga, and I have a lot of thoughts on that. But I immediately jumped to the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and...

WOW the quality difference is amazing Kei Sasuga's art is on a whole other galaxy compared to Gege's even though Gege's story is obviously much better.

Not just saying that coz of the boobs either lol

DomeKano having better art than JK certainly is a take.

Though early chapters were definitely a bit rougher though, IIRC.

I am a casual fan of anime, but got sucked into The World's Finest Assassin gets reincarnated as an aristocrat or whatever it's called. Good show. First season just finished.

I finally watched Outlaw Star.

It was... ok. Definitely did not live up to the hype and the last episode was just to much for my tastes. Definitely not on the level of Bebop or Trigun for me.
