Convince me not to by telling me all the extra accessories I'll actually have to spend money on for best experience. I know there's a better head rest thing, and you need a separate OEM cable to hook it up to your computer, for instance.

I got that impression too, but it seems like it's not so much "recently" as "possibly, at an unspecified date in the future which could just be when they replace it with requiring a Meta account."

This is all the reason you should need. It's a real shame too cause the Quest is very cool.

If you're lucky enough to have a PS5, maybe just wait for PSVR2?

Played Superhot on my buddy's Oculus.

Easily the most mind-blowing game experience I've had since first picking up a SNES controller as a kid.

I would consider trying VR if I could find somewhere to see what it's like before I buy. I've had some issues lately with staring at certain displays or certain games, and the last thing I want to do is invest a ton of time, money, and motivation into a piece of hardware that I'm not going to enjoy (either literally or because I can't continue to focus on it.)

They sell the Quest 2 at Costco. You could try it and return it if you don't like it?

Having tried it over the holidays, VR was awesome as long as I wasn't moving inside the headset. So stuff like Beat Saber and SuperHot were fine. As soon as movement happened (i.e. riding a roller coaster or moving with the analog sticks) my brain and my stomach noped out real quick. I'm sure you eventually get your "VR legs" (someone here mentioned pointing a fan at your face) but I didn't have enough time with it to get to that point.
