I figured the poll was a pretty good hint!

We're going with Jack Andrew. Jack is a nickname for my dad and also my wife's grandfather's name, so that was a family name that works for both sides. We went with Andrew because we wanted an A middle name so that he'd have the same initials as me and my dad. I don't have any desire to name my kid after me, but I thought having the same initials would be pretty cool.

In Ys VIII, as I play through another Dana flashback and learn more about Eternia's history, I'm guessing that Io has something to do with whatever calamity befalls the kingdom. She's definitely the most suspicious person in these segments.

I hope so, too. She had something similar to what I have a week or two ago, but she tested negative. She also never tested positive when I had it last time either, so maybe she just has bad luck with tests or something.

The more casual the fishing is the better, personally. The Cold Steel games were good about that.

okay the ghost pirate ship in Ys VIII was really cool

also there's got to be some piece of equipment that lets me breathe underwater because there's stuff I can't reach and I'm pretty sure the option to just get rid of the water doesn't exist

oh yeah Dana just said the royal palace had equipment like that so hopefully that's coming up soon

agree - and specifically i didn't think g2-2 took that long, but i also really enjoyed the plot and characters of it.

So the reason Goku was so calm was because he realized Gohan had surpassed him, huh. I guess this had to happen eventually since the show has been kind of pushing him as the main character in waiting, but this should be interesting.

My wife decided she wanted to start watching this, and it's already throwing weird coincidences at me. The show starts with the triplets turning 36 (and I'm about to turn 36), and the dad's name is Jack.

Also, the Alan Thicke cameo hit me a little hard now that he's gone.

also I know it's never a "good" time to catch Covid but it's been snowing the last couple days and I haven't had to be out working in it so that's been kinda nice

Ys VIII Chapter 5 complete! Well, the title of the game finally makes sense now, and those were some heavy revelations there at the end. I'm guessing the robed figure is Io because they looked to have feminine hands, and I think they disguised their voice for a similar reason to Three Houses, to mask the fact that this person is a woman.

also I've been playing as every character in order to trigger the trophies for exploring a set amount of time as each one (only Ricotta to go now), and here's how I'd rank them on how fun they are to play

Dana > Adol > Hummel > Laxia > Ricotta > Sahad

Sahad's the only one I didn't really find that fun and was glad when I could stop using him though

Interesting. I greatly disliked playing as Hummel, personally, and found Ricotta pretty fun, but yeah, Dana is the best.

Hummel took a lot of getting used to but I eventually found a good combination of Skills that let me do a good job of fighting from distance and managing crowd control.
