I'm legit surprised she's actually this affected by it. I actually thought it was just a joke or a meme that she herself was party to. Allegedly people had warned her that her discord was on public and she had brushed them off and mafu calling her through discord instead of something more private doesn't make sense either. I'm baffled this has gotten this serious.

I think it's more that EN fans are constantly drawing attention to it via the public outpouring of support, and Rushia would likely rather this all just goes away. Neither are particularly wrong, it's just the nature of the problem.

In Aloe's case, the situation was already significantly worse before all the support went in. She already received death threats and doxxing of both her and her family long before anything else happened. Also honestly the loudness of the support was only about half of what Rushia is getting now where it's literally the only discussion on the front page.

Aloe's situation didn't get worse by there being too much attention on it lol. All those things happened before it, which is why it's fucking bizarre to blame the EN for... well anything. It's a bit revisionist to say otherwise because the loudness of the support was more perpendicular to what she already went through, not that she was going through it because there was too much attention to her situation...

I dunno if I'm really blaming them for it but like... part of why they take breaks with these sorts of controversies is so that people forget about it since a certain number of the trolls are just coming by since it seems popular and if the whole thing just slips out of people's minds then they'll go somewhere else. it's not even just an EN thing this time since there's a bunch of similar support from the JP side when the best thing to do is probably to stop bringing attention to it at all for a bit

But if you think about it, when has that EVER worked for anybody? You want a similar situation, Roa is currently going through the same thing with not even a fraction of support from the audience. When she made the comeback post, nobody forgot about it.

You are blaming the general audience who are being supportive when it's clear at this point that it's 99% a problem with the idol community having extremely toxic view of relationships. No amount of time is ever going to solve that. It honestly is a bit more effective to show these people that they're the clear minority and they're the ones in the wrong. Silence is an extremely weird and flawed way to go about solving a problem inherent in a community that Japanese people like to employ, but if you look at it from a further perspective, it's no different from just closing your eyes and ears and making noises til the problem goes away lol. It doesn't work and is an incredibly childish way of thinking about societal problems

I mean neither viewpoint is particularly wrong, but it's a lot harder to go through this stuff without support. It's one of those things where you gotta realize that the person involved usually wants to put it behind them and just make it go away, but... that usually doesn't happen.

I imagine it's just hard to see it constantly brought up, but at the same time... people usually don't get through that kinda hate without the support showing up.

to be clear I'm not saying to not show support, just that making a very big public display of support that actually references the issue itself is sort of counterproductive when they are trying to 1) put it out of the public eye and 2) destress on a personal level by not spending every moment of their day reminded of it

save the support for when they come back, or at least just limit it to stuff like "looking forward to your return!" instead of "doesn't bug me if you have a boyfriend!"

Like this works out if the talent really does in fact have a boyfriend or whatever, but what if they don't? The talent in question now has to deal with a group of people who claim to be fighting for them by saying they are happy they're in a relationship, but that sort of thing would be pretty stressful for someone who is only friends with someone. At this point people are no longer caring about the wellbeing of the talent, but using them for whatever change they want, regardless of intentions.

Like yeah, there's issues with idol communities, but it's really not fair to try to use someone who hasn't actually consented to be used like that.

That'd be true if the message of the support is that they're in support of a relationship. But that's not been the case. Like Cover's message regarding the situation, the point is that her personal life shouldn't matter, not that we should congratulate her for being in a relationship.

Also the more important part of my post was that silence is a horrible solution to any of this. Rushia has said she's not ready to talk about it quite yet, and I think that's very fair, and Cover themselves have released a statement that I think was rather effective. They happened after my first post about it, and I congratulate them on a good job tbh. But their old method of literally keeping silence and flat out forbidding their talent of streaming regardless of what they wanted (like Towa wanted to just stream) was flawed, and that's what I'm talking about

But yes, you're right that talents shouldn't be used for some agenda. But yeah that's not really what I'm talking about though

Yamada is playing Shadowverse, just spent like 50 bucks equivalent to buy a deck to play on the worst format, using a now T2 at best deck... She burned through a bunch of meta cards in other classes to do this and basically ended up with a much worse experience. She insta-lost to a bad deck playing against viewers

I don't know HOW I ended up developing this fear because as far as I can tell I've always actually had it. It's a big reason why I couldn't watch DD's other stream earlier in the month. It's a big reason why I prefer vtubers in general.

It's not even particularly rare for talents to have external channels they do things on. They (with a few exceptions) all made content before signing on, after all (and after, in one particular case).

The only regulation in terms of that particular setup is you can't straight up out yourself, as I understand it.

As I gather Coco got tired of the corporate trappings that came with being Coco as opposed to her current variety content which is basically still being Coco in all but name.

Can't really speculate beyond that.

No, she's just having fun off the clock. She's 100% unfiltered as DDK but, still 100% Cali. Right down to the guhs. She wanted to just use this as a way to vent and be open. Cali can't be entirely open about everything as she's playing a role.

Just an accident but, it was a very open secret who she was. She never really hid it. Cali never hid her past life either. She's mentioned she gets bothered when people act like it's some big secret. It's not and she doesn't give a shit if you know. I mean in her livestreams she's pretty open she's Cali. She wont outright say it but, says enough.

The company doesn't care if their irl self does stuff unless it becomes a bigger problem.

In fact they didn't even do anything when the... hand through the door incident happened to a certain JP talent. As they should, since that could've resulted in a bigger incident. Sadly the girl herself has been on a pretty big viewership decline overall, but not so much to the point where she can't continue what she's been doing.

Also... it just sorta feels like a lot of Holo talents are basically on track to be approached by guys one way or another. It's not like they're in some studio 24/7 or have strict daily obligations, since streamers do decide their own schedule. They're only idols in a technical sense, but a pure online one ultimately have a lot of freedom. I guess that's another subject matter, and some simps should adopt better logical stance on life I feel.
