Here are some metrics.

Article says they paid about 465 million to make Lotr season 1

In 2020, they had 150 million paid subscribers to prime
It was about $15 to sub

That means subscriptions alone generated 2.25 billion

as a whole they net 33 billion based on article below

Oh but I am sure they needed to raise more money because the show cost too much to make!

Feel bad being schooled by a 15 year old?

Schooled by a guy that can't even get the price right or read and understand what the $15 mentioned in the article is referring to.

Sure got me. Your thinking is too simple minded to waste my time on.

When people cannot counter your argument and resort to pedantism, you know they got schooled.

Theyre giving other companies the opportunity to jump in and fill the void that they used to occupy. Good guy daddy always looking out for the little guy.

It's likely to pay for the huge cost of the LotR show. The shipping barely costs them anything anymore since everything is local, and why Prime Video alone is like $9-$10/month with no option for just the shipping benefit.

Lol!

In 2021 Amazon spent $76 BILLION in shipping costs. LOTR season 1 cost $465M.

I'm referring to the free 2 day benefit. Everything is sent from your local warehouse, whether it's free shipping or free Prime shipping.

I don't doubt their overall operation has increased in costs.

Among other things they're probably passing on the cost of gas prices into the service which all companies do

400ish million is nothing to them. The price increase will net them far beyond that; and they were gonna make new programming either way to not bleed revenue to Netflix.
