Anyway, set up the yamls in a way that will let me get a fairly random assortment of games this time.

what I did for a few of these was I just rolled a d20 and weighted towards games I was more interested in, THEN did yamls accordingly

We'll start in about fourteen and a half hours! Since we're over twenty games, I'll need to generate the game myself and then upload it to the website (website has a 20 game limit). I've tested this and it seemed to work. Hopefully there are no problems

We've had some good progress in every game so far, but only Lolo's SMW is finished. I have about 17 more actual checks in my Hollow Knight, mostly locked behind shade cloak or in the Abyss.

So, you can do all of BOB stars with just the cannon, but "Mario Wings to the Sky" (the coin ring secrets) is a pain in the ass because you've got to shoot up to the island minimum three times. You can get all of the stars except "Mario Wings to the Sky" with just the cap.

IIRC there are either 96 or 98 coins reachable with neither cap nor cannon (That is, not on the island or in the coin rings). So you can just get those, then use a side flip to get a couple of coins off the first ring, and that's 100.

I finished my Hollow Knight! We're making great progress too, only six slots remain

I think I just need my bow to finish mine.

I learned some new tricks in ALTTP... in ganon's tower used a bomb jump for the first time using the spin setup method, and cleared a room that required firerod w/only lamp.

This was also our twelfth monthly randomizer. It's hard to believe we've been doing this for a whole year. I wasnt sure anyone would be interested when I first posted about it here, but I'm glad we've built a good crew.

Also if anyone missed it in the Discord or isn't there, we're talking about running a meme-y LTTP syncronized game over the holidays we're (tentatively) calling Ice Rod Festival. Everyone starts the game with every item except the Ice Rod. So if 5 people are playing, that's 1075 empty chests and 5 ice rods...! The triforce is behind Trinexx. So it'll be a goofy game of chance. Hope you can join us!

Someone linked me here. I usually don't look at the multiworld stuff because it feels like a total pain to set-up but I play plenty of LTTPR. By synchronized, do you mean a standard multiworld or do you mean a race on the same seed? Because I'd totally join in on the latter, but I don't want to figure out all the bizhawk nonsense.

It's standard multiworld.

You don't need Bizhawk for lttp though. You can play with snes9x (As long as it's one of the variants that supports Lua) or Retroarch (As long as you use the Bsnes-Mercury core and a 1.10.x or newer version of Retroarch itself).

In fact, I recommend Retroarch because it has the least setup involved.

(Off the top of my head, the only games that hard require Bizhawk are the console non-SNES ones - Ocarina of Time, Pokemon Red/Blue and Final Fantasy 1)

y'know I tried using snes9x-rr for AP and I couldn't get the lua connector to work. Never had issues using lua for emotracker though

Same rom you use for regular rando. You need to install the AP Client software. One time setup on Retroarch (To enable network commands)

I can help with it if you need any assistance, since it's the setup I use.

I use snes9x-rr for everything (archipelago, tracking, non-archipelago multiworlds/multitroids), never had a problem except when I choose the wrong version of the lua file (x64 vs x86).

I might switch to retroarch someday, but I'm not sure if it supports super metroid autosplitting (and I wrote my own super metroid item tracker that only works with snes9x lol).

it's absolutely funnier if he's randomized because you gotta beat bosses cause they're checks, so you're just gonna randomly find him like "oh welp, mirror out"

As for me, there's apparently a problem with HK at the moment and we need to download the latest files from a pinned message on that channel in the Archipelago discord. I tried doing that but it still won't let me connect. Hopefully this is something I can figure out and not a problem with the world I generated and uploaded. Let me know if anyone else has errors with their games.

One thing that's always fascinating to me is if there are item pickups that seem thematically fitting, like how I found a moon pearl in pokemon's mt. moon or one of my own spirit temple small keys in the pokemon tower
