So Im mixing for the first time for my cousins birthday get together on Saturday. I go to a local liquor store to get stuff for sex on the beach plus other stuff. I ask the dude if they have peach schnapps and he directs me to the section where it's at and he grabs a container but it says peach brandy on it. I look around some more but it seems to be the only peach thingy they have. I ask again just to make sure, "So I guess this is your guys only peach schnapps huh?" and he says yes.

So yeah. Now I have two small things of peach brandy and now I'm wondering did I fuck up? Gonna try a dry run mix of it tonight to see but yeah.

I uh...hmm...what?

You definitely fucked up but depending on how peachy it is it could not matter lol but they're definitely two different types of alcohols with distinct flavors.

I think at the cheap level theyre fairly interchangeable. The brandy might be stronger and have a little heavier flavor but for the cheap stuff, both of them are just liquor with some artificial flavoring added

I think it might pass because we usually just do shots and beer/trulies, unless we (rarely) go out out or have an occasion like a wedding or something. I just want more tasty stuff recently so that's why Im trying to get into mixing cocktails.

Well...it's not how my past sex on the beaches were that I'd get at a bar lol. But I'd say it's passing? You can definitely taste the alcohol but I wonder if it's because I did the recommended recipe of just pouring the shit over ice lol. I might try shaking it in my shaker/strainer on Saturday and see if that tastes better.

Brandy is more akin to a wine.

Whereas Schnapps in a liqueur, which are made differently and tend to be very sweet and are used as ingredients primarily. I think if drank Schapps all night, you stomach is most likely going to feel like shit the next morning.
It would be fun on Vanella Ice Cream though. Or like Godiva chocolate liqueur.

Ironically I should someone where Peach Schnapps was today, and suggest the Ice Cream idea!

Plus schnapps are basically nothing but flavor and alcohol.

It's damn near the alcoholic version of those flavor syrups at Starbucks.

Brandy is going to have its own flavor plus a mild peach, schnapps would have basically tasted like peach and burning.

Trust me, I spent a lot of time drinking schnapps straight.

Hmmm might make a quick run to target or something to try and find some schnapps then. Just odd that a dedicated liquor store wouldn't have em, or maybe I didn't look hard enough and the worker didn't know shit lol

Try convenience stores if they sell booze, or like a Walgreens.

99 Peach should be relatively easy to find at those locations, at least in smaller bottles.

I'm surprised you'd have trouble finding peach schnapps, like every single store I've been to usually has that DeKuyper brand

Vodka is just Ethynol and Water.
The only thing that changes it's profile is the amount of times it was distilled, and what it is made from.
We have Ukrainian Vodka that is made with Ukrainian Wheat is probably the cleanest Vodka I've ever had.

Oh that store has to have some for of Schapps. However probably just didn't know where or what it was.

Also they should be in relatively different areas of the store... depending on the size of the store.

You might also like Orange or Lemon...Cellos.
Lemoncello, or Orangecello.

They will step up your game, but with a more reasonable alcohol content.

I mixed some of that with 100 proof peppermint schnapps once. Went down very smoothly and was delicious as fuck. Even being a veteran long time drinker, I went from buzzed to blacked out a lot faster than I have in a long time lol.

As for peach brandy, not really a fan of it. I like blackberry brandy a lot though and I had coffee brandy once that was good too. Just regular brandy is also good.

I actually had a liter of the schnapps and a 750ml of the chocolate so I was mixing at that ratio >_> (I also watered it down slightly, more to make it less thick than to weaken it. Flavor wasn't really affected).

You dumped all of that together?

not all at once. I was just mixing at that ratio (or as close as I could eyeball) and adding a little bit of water with each drink. It was over 3-4 nights iirc.

I tried it with both and the peach schnapps was noticeably better. There was too much of a "mixed alcohol" type flavor with the brandy if ya kind of get where I'm coming from.

But the real star of the show yesterday was actually the Dirty Shirley's. Everyone loved it and kept telling me they couldn't taste any alcohol lol. Oh, and the flavored soju cocktails
