Did they go through a traumatic event and using food to comfort them? I feel like that's what happens a lot (although not all the time). I would check to see if she is depressed first and see if you can do anything about it --- Less is more. She didn't eat unhealthy, she just wasn't active, and being someone who is 32 years old, your metabolism slows down.
