One of them has a circle centered on them, and their partner can't leave the circle. And they need to stack with another player but not with each other. Also the tether slows both players. It's neat.

I've made and melded a bunch of i610 gear for my main jobs, for slots that won't be filled with tome gear or raid pieces in the next month or two. Between those crafted pieces and the Purgatory/Panda accessories I'd gotten on patch day, my main jobs are 602 or 603.

So I should learn and clear the new Ex, and get a better staff for my Whm at least, if not slightly better weapons for Brd and War as well.

I will say, though, that making the mats and 610 gear ended up being less painful than I'd expected it to be. The mat gathering was still a pain, but the actual crafting was not. With four HQ mats I can guarantee a HQ piece of equipment 100%. At three HQ mats, I almost could, but all it'd take is one poorly timed Excellent or Good proc, and my macro will be borked on quality.

Well one of the couple is a small - the Yellow Coblyn. So I dunno. I did, at least, finally get the other one late last night.

Also, it would appear that once you have made your animals a certain level of happiness, you do not need to rely on the same level of food that got them there to keep them there. So you can stock the heck up on apples and basic feed if you need or want to. I'm about to hop on and check on my animals to be sure of this. If so, then you could start using a considerable number of garden veggies on Workshop items or on selling directly for the blue tokens.

I am only missing three of the "rare" animals in my Island pasture, and two of them I'm probably never getting; Goldback because I don't have a good name for it and Paissa because I despise paissas. lol

So that leaves Twinklefleece, which is spawning in about fifteen minutes from now.

In the meantime, I am in Moraby Drydocks doing some crafting. I've a stack of Tsai Tou Vounou and 44 scrip turn-ins to make. The latter are so I can finish my last two crafter relics from last xpac, and then that'll just leave the Fsh one to do, of all the relics in the game. @_@

Same, and grats.

Now to progress on those remaining achievements while saving up on enough seafarer cowries (est. 82k) to grab the items I want to collect. Those items should take about six weeks from now; maybe less. Then there's the 500k cowries achievement that, uhh... I suspect it will take a while, as will the remaining achievements.

And I also kinda want to replace my windmill with the otter fountain. We'll see though.

I hit the 10k achievement for Seafarer Cowries in a single week. I think the rarest mat I used all week was the cabbage for one item today/yesterday. Now my workshops have three consecutive days off, during which time I'm making sure to have enough rare mats from the granaries.

Next week, I'm aiming for that 17k chiev.

I've also got my first of three mandragora mounts. As said before, I'm looking at six weeks or less of proper workshop rotations. Then I can chill, checking in on my Island and related stuff so it's running smooth in the background while I start my Manderville weapons, variant dungeons, and new tribal dailies.

Oh! And I've been working on the relic tools from last expansion, as you may know. I have just two steps left on Fsh, and I'll be done with all relics prior to Endwalker. I think the last time I was without a relic to work on was a few months before Eureka came out. lol

As of last night, my final pre-Endwalker relic is done. Now I can relax until mid October when the Manderville Legendaries come out. Well, I say relax, but I do have a few things to work on. lol

I should work on my Mist apartment some more and try a couple minor things with my house and fc room. Maybe try those Otter Fountain crafts and replace the wrong-way-turning, can't-be-climbed-without-flying windmill on my Island Sanctuary. We'll see.

That's two mandie mounts down so far, and it looks like I'll be passing the 17k seafarer mark for the week on Monday . . . but possibly while I'm at work. Meaning I won't be able to claim the chiev until Tuesday morning after the maintenance/patch they're doing. Go figure. haha...

I've already told Radar, in our fc, this, but grabbing enough produce for pasture feed is so easy that you can sell surplus produce regularly for extra seafarer. Here's how I mean:

Out of 20 garden beds, you need 12 for, let's say, parsnips and popotos to make enough of the best feed for twenty animals each day, plus two extra servings. I have my garden set up to require replanting 10 of my 20 each day. 6 of each 10 goes to popotos and parsnips, as I said. Doing the math, every three days, I do 6 crafts instead of 7, and sell the resulting surplus. Now, what about those extra four beds per day?

I have a minimum of 20 of each produce in my Isle inventory, in case I need one or two of the types for the workshops. Anything beyond that 20 is surplus to be sold for more seafarer. However, as you may or may not know, cabbage and pumpkins sell for the least at like 4 cowries each. Popotos and parsnips sell for 5 each.

Every three days, that's 50 extra seafarer just from those two produce I'm always growing. However, there are seeds that the gardening mammet sells for 2 cowries each. What if I told you that the produce from those seeds can be sold for 6 seafarer each? Meaning for an investment of 2 cowries, you can get 30 in return, two days later, as opposed to 25 cowries from a free seed around the island. So that's one less thing to gather, and, no, 3 cowries is not a lot at all, but it's still a gain . . . per bed. So that's 12 extra cowries per day on top of the 100 you're already getting from those four beds not claimed by animal feed, just because of the small, easy investment from the mammet.

Three days, 386 additional seafarer cowries. It does not contribute to the workshop totals or achievements, but it does add to the 500k total achievement.

Then there are the animal leavings I sell once they pass a certain point of surplus - 24 after workshop allotment for the week. Leavings sell for even more per item than any of the produce.

It all adds up, for so little time and effort. Yeah, I'll have the Island rewards I care about in a month, not counting some of the achievements. Count on the achievements being done before the crafting tribe comes out in presumably February. It's like SE time-gated the achievements to line up so you're finishing one thing right before the next thing comes out. :Thinking:

Nice. I'm probably grabbing my third mandie on Tuesday morning, after maintenance. It'll take one or two weeks, depending on what's best for the workshops next week, to save for the bike, but I'll for sure have the bike and minion by the latter week.

Tonight, though, I have a list of plans so I can grab another mount I'm missing and do some crafting, including some high-perc food so I can get those new solutions to try for the Otter Fountain. Wish me luck.

Lotta weird shit in the patch. PLD and WAR were buffed and that was it.... kind of. p8s was nerfed, the reason given was "our testers are too good and it was tuned for their skill level" A third party tool was used to create "illegitimate" waymarks in p7s. The player that made the waymark had action taken on their account, but the waymarks were spread around and shared so people are still allowed to use them, and the arena is being altered to make the waymarks legitimate. Dragoon is getting a buff on Dragon Sight, but it's being called a bug fix. Tons of bug fixes on the island sanctuary. I'm curious if p7s might have been shadow nerfed. The dps check on that fight was absolutely ridiculous. And even though I pulled about 1000 dps higher than I did in the previous fight, which is a fucking TON, I parsed grey. x_x

I can confirm they fixed the bug with the animals spawning at specific weather and times. So that's nice for people not wanting to re-enter their Islands just for that - a few weeks in, after things have calmed down. <_<

Anywho, I got my 17k chiev, third mandragora mount, and the minion. I'm giggling to myself since the best items for the workshop the next two days require some produce that I keep up to a minimum.

Haven't played FF14 in forever.

I got a weird relationship with this game, and hell, almost every online game that I mostly play without friends.

I'll play like crazy for a few weeks, tops, then I'll barely touch the game for over a year.

Hell, I've probably never even played an online game with a friend for even 6 months. When I was playing online with my previous partner...let's see...

I probably played LOTRO(Lord of the Rings Online) the longest, for like a year or so. This one we actually got to the end of the main quest content in the game(which was the end of The Two Tatas.) I kinda stopped enjoying most of the game once we got into the expansions, but I didn't care because I felt like I was spending most of my time laughing with the person that I was madly in love with at the time. We're still super close btw, and she's one of my two best friends. We talk quite a bit.

I probably played The Secret World(back when it was buy to play.) for probably 2 months. I enjoyed my time with it, and in its previous state it's probably my favorite MMO of all time. Like with my favorite game Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines It feels like the rare M rated game that actually feels like it's aimed at adults instead of teenagers. Sure wish it was more successful, and on a side note, fuck IGN for their review. The reviewer clearly didn't play the fucking game!

Then we sorta got distracted with a new toy with Star Wars: TOR going...well, pay to win. Great game, but god, the game literally ate my money, and didn't give me the 6 month sub I paid for, twice! We played for like 2 months.

We also played a very small amount of ESO and WOW.

My point is, no game holds my attention long enough to justify paying for a sub.

It's looking more likely that I can get my motorbike from Island Sanctuary before the next weekly reset, and then the remaining rewards I care about a week after that. It's not a guarantee, but it's a good chance.

Also, I was looking at rankings this morning, and I broke into the top 100 for mounts on our server. We'll see how long that lasts. =p

50 CC wins away from the Gloria class airship. And I'm at series malmstone 19, with a mount at 25, so almost there! I played frontlines for several hours yesterday to build up some wins for the Onsal Hakair mount. I still need about 70 and yesterday after playing it for hours I got... 0 wins. :|

Also started p8s prog last night. I believe part 1 dies at about 50%, we got to about 75% last night. The fight is interesting because the way it works is it does the first phase of mechanics. Then it picks 1 of 2 different phases. Completes that set. Does a transition phase to the other set. Completes that set. Does another phase. Then it again picks from one of two different phases, does both phases and enrages. We only got to the mid point of that process once last night.

I know nothing about p8s part 2.

Also, I'm about 72 days or less from getting my Astrope mount from Mentor Roulette. The long grind is nearly over. @_@

Got my final island mount this morning \o/ 169 total. I'm about 28 wins away from the Gloria class Airship so I'm gonna work on that over the week, and every 4 days I'm gonna try to get about 3-5 Onsal Hakair wins for that mount.

Trying to grind CC wins for the Glorai Class Airship. Why does it show me the damage dealt and healed at the end, all it does is make me salty. "Wow I'm doing a ton of damage, why is nothing dying?" then I look at the scoreboard at the end. I do 700k damage. 2 people on my team didn't even break 90k. :|

Sometimes, when I run dungeons as a Warrior and end up soloing any number of bosses, I ask myself if I'm a War stereotype. Then I shrug and kill the boss.

Yes, but I mean in terms of frontline matching. When they decided to force Mercenary Mode on everyone, all of the time, it ceased to matter who your current grand company is. Your current GC only affects GC-related achievements .

I played around on Teamcraft and made a new crafting macro for Grade 3 Artisan expert recipes, at level 90. It's a guaranteed success with the second tier for collectability, and with rng on my side I can raise some of those crafts to the third tier. This can probably change with the next set coming for crafters in February-ish (because tribes are mid patches now -.-), but this can be good for chucking those grade 3 achievements behind me. Also: finishing a few ShB range crafting achievements.

The next question, though, is how many of these achievements I'll finish before Manderville, Variants, and Omicron tribal quests begin? I don't exactly have long before I'll be busy with those on top of Island chores for the next 212 days, Mentor Roulette four times a day for the next 52 days, 53 days of leve allowances worth of making and turning in Tsai Tou Vounou, hitting P7 and 8 (normal) until I finally get the music and TT card because rng in this game continues to make real-life casinos look customer friendly, and remembering to check my Jumbo Cactpot tickets every week for the next few months until that Work Smarter achievement finally pops after the better part of eight years. <_<
