PSP ones, GBA, DS?

Which are the most "complete"? The most authentic to the original experiences? If I was looking for true authenticity would I be better off playing SNES and PS1 versions and such?

Did actually already play a few on PSP and DS back in the day. Wasn't a fan of the chibi artstyle.

For authenticity I think the pixel remasters are probably your best bet outside the originals.

the main complaint with the pixel remasters is they remove a lot of added content from more recent ports.

But they still fixed glitches and added others from what Ive heard so it still wont be the original experience. Pixel Remaster 1 for instance doesnt have the same intelligence bug, which is good but isnt true to the original in that regard.

The first four are noticeably easier than the originals, with leveling being quicker, item drop rates being increased, and so on. The FFII Pixel Remaster is actually the most playable version of FFII by far.

Then you get to FFV, which largely keeps most of its steep difficulty curve. It can be a bit jarring.

The fonts are awful. The music is very well done. The many game-breaking bugs in FFVI are fixed. They were overall a fun romp.

FF1 - GBA or PSP (Pixel has the weird Magic system)
FF2 - GBA Mod of Balance romhack
FF3 - Pixel or 3D remake
FF4 - PSP
FF5 - Pixel or GBA
FF6 - Pixel or SNES, both versions have plenty of QoL mods
