Its been like an hour and a half and i've moved to 2 locations and nothing else!!!

I dunno, this is the series that had the major plot twist in Y2/YK2 be SECRET KOREANS EVERYWHERE and Y4's RUBBER BULLETS.

It's par for the course at this point.

that was so dumb, IMO.

it totally took me out of the story.

Most Yakuza games tend to be pretty frontloaded on cutscenes and story before they really open up, LaD is a bit extreme even for this series.

It was fairly tame for Yakuza.

I dont think heavy story based games are for you.

Also, tbf to the LaD twist, coin locker babies were a very real thing in Japan in the late 80s/early 90s. Two in the same locker is obviously a major coincidence but there's a level of truth to it.

The whole series has always done really crazy stuff and plot twists during its story but two babies being put RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER in coin lockers is completely ridiculous even by Yakuza standards

Oh yes, clearly because i want to actually play a game instead of watching an hour and a half of exposition clearly means i hate story based games, right?

for me, it's not just because they were right next to each other, but also because there was nothing to suggest that Ichiban was abandoned/left in a locker until it was brought up at the end.

IMO, great twists are hinted at earlier in a narrative so it feels like there's some kinda payoff, but this was really forced and lazy.

Yakuza 6 had the Yamato 2 FFS. Its really not that ridiculous.

It's really not. Kiryu has had things happen to him that were more ridiculous.

Something being built in secret is nowhere near as crazy as the twist in LAD

It actually is since it basically just spawned in and in game characters didn't notice because of draw distance.

Why is it that:

Turn based combat: must have tons of story.

Other genres of games can get away with little story but turn based must have tons of story.

Every Yakuza game is like that >.>

Par for the course for the Yakuza series

Favorite is probably Yakuza 6 with giant underground world war 2 battleship
