i had the weirdest fucking dream last night lol

i was working my new job and got called in as a substitute teacher for a computer class at a school Id never been to. I have zero experience with teaching and have never pursued a teaching career.

anyway, it was the first day of school and all of the parents were walking their kids into the class. helly walked in, (keep in mind, i have no idea what he looks like irl) slapped my ass, said sup dirt and then left.

then, later in my dream, Im browsing PotD and see a thread from helly that says something like i knew Id slap your ass, dirt. And i replied IN MY DREAM asking how he got into my dream.

there were a lot of other things that happened in that dream but that was the pertinent stuff. an absolute mindfuck. Ive been spending way too much time here lol

I don't know that they would. I think the outrage comes when someone feels like something they like has been changed in the name of social responsibility/wokeness. For instance, if I build a game from the ground up that's about gay people, no one's gonna be bothered. If I as a developer have frequently put gay stuff in my games and other things that I make, no one's gonna be bothered.

But if Mario and Luigi all of a sudden are like "Protect trans kids also sorry about Tomodachi Life that one time" people are gonna be like "Why is Mario doing this thing now? He didn't before, so he shouldn't now."

I think there's a clear social disconnect between "I am not hetero" and "I am LGBTQ, I love rainbow shit" and so people don't associate the rainbow flag with queerness, instead it's associated with awkward activists who spent their teenage years jacking it to furry porn on Tumblr. It's pretty cringe to show allegiance to those uncomfy people so people don't like the flag in media.

Maybe. But I think some people wouldnt like it. For example, its possible some Christian family who hates gays probably wouldnt want the game released if they knew about it, that is

Telling a developer what they can and can't put in their game is advocating for censorship.
I fucking hate woke culture and I do think it's a toxic stain on society. That being said though, if you don't like something being included from a game whether it's a pride flag or MAGA hat or whatever, you don't get to complain about it because it's the artists vision that should always get their say. If you don't like it, you don't have to play it.
Besides, this is an option. you don't HAVE to have the facepaint so it's obviously not a big deal. I'd be saying the same thing if it was a conservative facepaint/accessory.

I just got the platinum last weekend. Great game although quite overshadowed by Elden Ring. I might do a NG+ run with the pride face paint

Wait, so people are complaining about the game which is a sequel to Zero Dawn, where the main character is pretty much held up as the hero because she's from a matriarchal tribe, and where she's basically the Chosen One because she has two mothers and no father (Rost doesn't count)?

And then in the sequel it turns out she was cloned from a lesbian because men bad?

Horizon's been woke as fuck from day one.

The pride flag might be the least gay thing in the games.

some of the arguments i've seen are "they don't have any concept of colors so they wouldn't do this"

"they have more important things going on than worrying about pronouns and rainbows so this is bullshit"

For an earlier movie Ford was in, you should try out The Conversation (1974 film). If you're interested, do not look up anything beyond what's listed in the first couple of paragraphs in the wikipedia article. It's a great film, and Ford's role in it is so different from the roles he's played in more famous films, it's refreshing despite being older than his work in Star Wars.
