They did a lot of drawings for prizes. wpot 09/29/22 5:33:36 PM #8:	I did an Alaskan cruise once: it was a kind of neat way to see Glacier Bay/etc which I wouldn't have otherwise, but seeing it (and humpbacks/bears/etc) from a giant boat lessened it (and made me feel like I was ruining it). The shore excursions were neat (i.e. taking a helicopter up on top of a glacier) if you got away from the crapshops they wanted you to go to 50' from the gangway. The rest of the cruise experience was kinda mediocre: attempted organized fun with a director trying to make me bid on art or dance or gamble or something. Drinks were super pricey. Sleeping stunk when we had the open ocean swells (6-9 meters one day). And the germ sharing seems gross in retrospect. I would 100% prefer going to an all-inclusive resort in the Mexican Riviera to a Caribbean cruise. Food as good or better, way more space, better beach/pools, less pressure to do dumb things, less sickness (apart from Montezuma's revenge), way more flexibility for on-shore activities, probably less pricey at the end of the day, etc. Only a slight chance of drug violence. :) --- Pronounced "Whup-pot".
