OW2 had a uneasy launch and got a lot of criticism. I still enjoyed the game though, despite my own problems with it. Will a lot of the issues be resolved in Season 2? ...probably not. Hang it there.

The big additions this season in the new Tank Hero Ramattra and a new map. Ramattra is the first hero that won't be available from the start* for Overwatch 1 players. You'll have to buy the Battle Pass or level up the free Pass to lv.45 (down from 55). I know this is going to be a huge point of contention for a lot of people. At the very least the fears that he'd be an overpowered, pay-to-win character doesn't seem to pan out. Reviews of him say that he's a very difficult to use hero who, even when used well, doesn't seem very strong. Aside from his Ultimate, which seems incredible, his abilities look underwhelming. Time will tell how if he changes the meta or if they buff him later.

A new season also adds patch changes to characters. The big one people are looking at are Sojourn's changes, who was widely considered to be the most powerful hero in Season 1:

As far as the Battle Pass goes, the new Mythic is Junker Queen that's patterned after Zeus, which is a... strange choice. I didn't expect them to choose a new character as the second Mythic but whatever.

Going forward in the season there will be new seasonal events, and they've said they'll change how they work so that you can get a new skin without paying (unlike the Halloween event which basically offered nothing good for free).

We'll see how the new Season goes as it goes. Season 3 should be when we'll start seeing more changes to the Battle Pass experience as they respond to fan complaints. S2 was probably too in the pipeline to make huge changes to.

Considering they did virtually nothing for supports with their debut S2 patch I expect support queue to stay virtually instant. I mean what the actual fuck is the balance team on. Literally who was asking for +5 ammo for Mercy as a buff? Lol

Okay, I'm actually liking Ramattra a lot. Especially you don't really need to have good aim with him, just good positioning and game sense, which is one my strengths. I see his obvious weaknesses though.

What I don't like is QP tank queues being about 10 minutes long... oh well.

Ram has a HUGE Hog weakness and thats ignoring all the other weaknesses his kit has like how barriers completely block his Ult he just kinda has to hold his block through anyways. At least they lowered the grind to unlock him I guess

Cant believe how many people are giving Blizzard money still for this thing despite the mountains of complaints people have with it. Well actually I can because people are weak and throw money away, but still.

I havent spent any money on Overwatch since its release, but big meh at queueing anything but flavor of the month in a Blizzard game.

You will literally get screeched at for picking Doomfist or Wrecking Ball in tank queue.

I'm a Ball main and it's sad right now. Probably the worst Tank in the game at the moment.

Doom is close as well, at least before the buffs he got in the S2 patch. I always prepare to take the L when he's on my team. Ramattta looks like he's gonna follow in his footsteps...

I watched some pro players using Ramattra and tried to change up my strategy using their tips and got clowned on like four games in a row. Might not be my character.

Winter Wonderland is up and... it looks pretty disappointing. No new game modes. Only one free skin and it's locked behind a Twitch drop... yeesh. They're offering a free weapon charm for logging in, and I hope that's not the "Christmas gift" they usually do because that's pathetic.

They know the complaints fans have about the events and said changes will be made so hopefully reworks to them are coming soon.

So doing challenges was fine for the Halloween event because I liked those game modes, but man, these ones are rough. I don't like any of the Winter game modes.

The big omission is Roadhog. Everybody in the community hates him now, and nerfs to him were promised but it looks like they aren't going to make it until next month. So the Hog meta is still upon us.

Wasn't it swordz who mained Hog and always hated his nerfs? Better get your games in while you can, because they're coming to take away his one-shot kill.

Battle of Olympus is up. Kind of a real wacky event. All the characters are broken, but in a fun way.

Reinhardt is incredibly fun. His charge instakills, can pin 3 enemies at once, is on a 3 second cooldown, goes down to a 0.5 second cooldown if you pin someone, heals him, and extends his ultimate. And he's not even the most broken character.

Lucio is also ridiculous. They made his boop into Doomfist's punch. He's so annoying and terrifying to go up against.

The real loser in the mode might be Widowmaker though. Although her petrifying gaze is really scary, she's not that great when everyone is either a tank or really hard to hit...

The free skin is just the old Winged Victory Mercy one though. Yet another bummer...

Also, new patch notes. Nothing really major in there. The Junker Queen buffs are nice, but probably aren't going to rescue the character. Zarya gets buffs though. Huh.

After thousands of hours in OW1 I decided to uninstall OW2 today.

The state of the game is absolutely horrible right now, unkillable Mercy (because of her insane movement) in every game unless you're a god tier sniper but then you spend the entire game dueling the other team's sniper.

Most games just come down to which team's tank is better. I think the change to 5v5 was interesting at first but it's completely destroyed the concept of this game for me.

Hurt to uninstall because of how much time I've put into the first game but I have to cut myself off to stop playing this game. Maybe they'll fix it one day but I have my doubts.

Most important news; Credits are returning as rewards, so you can earn them to buy cosmetics again. I already had enough credits to buy out the entire Hero Gallery twice over (even though I already own basically everything on it), but it's nice for new or returning players who haven't been back for a while.

The credits change currently wont do anything for longtime players and it does say they realize that, but who knows how long it will take them to make any changes with it. I dont want more ways to spend my OW1 currency if it cant ever be converted to OW2 currency because theres nothing new Ill ever be able to buy outside the basic new hero release cosmetics.

I'd really like it if the new shop exclusive items would be able to be purchased with credits after, say, a year. That would be similar to how they made the seasonal items in OW1 cheaper a year later. It'd seem pretty fair to me. People who really wanted the item badly could buy it, but others could grab it without paying money if they were willing to wait.

Which is the second in a row to be an OW2 character. I kind of wish they do Mythics for the older characters that I play more. Although at least I do use Kiriko much more than Junker Queen.
