In all seriousness if they didn't just announce Cavill was coming back I'd take this news as them rebooting the DCEU. Now I have no idea.

Oh wait missed this;

Okay. See ya.

Yeah I was done when they canned the Batgirl movie when it was already finished.

I have never read any wonder woman comic or watched any cartoons. But i just felt Gal Gadot is a bad wonder woman. She cant act, very one dimensional and she cant even drop her accent when wonder woman is supposed to be an expert at languages. Just by this point she should be dropped for someone who can do the american accent since shes mostly blending in there.

I have seen a few DC animated movies though, really like that version of wonder woman.

Oh look there is a God.

I am not surprised that it has been cancelled as the freaking ugly grotesque hag that cant act for shit in Gal Gadot is not Wonder Woman. Whoever it was that hired her should in all honesty be banned from Hollywood.

I have only seen the first WW movie and my God she was shit in the role. She looked nothing like WW unlike the gorgeous Lynda Carter who was every inch the perfect WW.

One sad note on there being no 3rd movie is that it means we will not see Lynda in action as she was due to act in it and she could have shown the grotesaque Gadot how to act and be WW.

Folks it is simple if they want to try WW again they need to ditch the fucking ugly grotesque Gadot who cant act for shit and bring back her:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/8/2/AAfUmvAAD9x6.jpg

Lynda maybe in her 70's but she is still gorgeous and can out act that fucking ugly hag that makes my blood boil in Gadot anyday.

Infact Carter put in a far superior performance in her cameo at the end of WW84 than Gadot did in the whole of WW.

Lynda has been and always will be Wonder Woman.

I don't know the details of this story, but if anything killed Wonder Woman 3, it was WW84.

Plot was bad, the narrative was bad, the villain was bad, the tone was weird and goofy. Even WWs powers were wonky.

Beginning of the movie I was like can't she fly as she kept relying on the rope to do simple shit? Mid movie she legit loses her powers. A lil after that she gains them back from some mental revelation and can now actually fly. But then she still ended up inconsistently needing the rope to assist in getting around and even the rope assisted her with flying. So it's like, what were the writers trying to go with here?

Basically this, although realistically speaking I think it was doomed before that. AT&Ts purchase of WarnerMedia was so leveraged that once Covid hit and movies stopped making money there was basically no way it was going to be able to continue the way it did. The sale to Discovery (saddling it with even more debt) has just expedited the inevitable.

I think they have something like a 2-to-1 ratio of debt to assets? Easily the most over-leveraged company in all of streaming, possibly in all of media in general.

The Batman is not in the DCEU, probably. What's in or not in the DCEU is pretty messy so it's fair someone would think it is though.

For example, we also have:
  • Green Lantern with Ryan Reynolds, which was going to kick off the DCEU but it was so bad they backtracked on that
  • Two versions of Justice League, where the one that's probably not canon has a bunch more teasers for future movie plots and exposition/background for the characters than the one that's probably canon does
  • The Suicide Squad vs Suicide Squad, where they're both maybe probably canon but The Suicide Squad is really effectively a soft reboot. And casual moviegoers are probably still confused about which one is which because of the shitty naming
  • Joker with Joaquin Phoenix which is clearly not the same Joker as in Suicide Squad but released in the middle of the DCEU anyways
  • Wonder Woman 1984's plot being such a horrifyingly messy shitshow that it's hard to imagine that it really takes place in the same universe as any other DCEU movies besides Wonder Woman 1
  • A very large amount of content from BvS that was cut from the theatrical release but included in the later release. I guess this is the least egregious one here but still a little bit of a canon question
  • The Batman with Robert Pattinson, as mentioned

Not to mention the actor problems like Amber Heard and Ezra Miller which probably results in some characters de-facto written out of the universe. All of it together really actually does make you appreciate how Marvel has been pretty impressively consistent for 25+ movies. Only a couple important recasts early on but overall the Marvel lows aren't as low as the DC lows that DC hit almost immediately starting out their universe. It's sad because growing up with the DCAU I actually wanted the DCEU to succeed

I have to defend Snyder a little bit here.

Snyder had a vision and WB didn't let him achieve it.

You know those stupid zombie-like enemies in suicide squad? They were meant to be parademons. The bad guy was going to be Steppenwolf, not that dancer chick. The plot was different, it was meant to set the stage for justice league.

There are many disjointed, weirdily isolated things in BvS and JL, such as, the bat-nightmare with the flash, ever wonder why? What about all of the cut joker footage? cut batman footage? cut cyborg footage? etc etc. There is a reason for this: these movies were supposed to be inter-related.

You see, mavel introduced captain america, thor and ironman. THEN they ventured into a movie with all of them together. Snyder was aiming for something similar, but they didn't let him. It's hard and stupid to try to introduce most JL members in a single movie.

this happens

Pattie Jenkins aint the only Hollywood director who got upset enough at studio disagreements that they walked away from a project
theres a reason its a trope

im all for Gal Gadot continuing as WW
she been passionate about the character and respectin reasonable fan expectations
and at the same time Wonder Woman has been a fictional icon literally fantasized about for decades
Gadot had a LOT of pressure on her shoulders in her performance of the character, just like Cavill did for Superman

i loved watching WW1, she did an awesome job for what was handed to her
WW2 was okay, but the criticism over its messy pacing was valid
but that was mainly an issue with the directing, not the actress

would love to see other WW universe characters make appearances like Nubia or Wonder Girl
