Its pretty funny sometimes, movie is about a late night talk show struggling with the ratings, with an old female host and a room of all male white writers. Mindy comes in and shakes things up with a fresh perspective and some comedic wit that helps with the ratings slowly but surely.

Mindy is pretty funny in it, she's great. Jon Lithgow is in it and he's a gem.

I dont know if it's making fun of the "awoke pc" people crowd or playing it straight. The end of the movie has the show being successful and when you cut to the writer's room its like a united colors of benetton ad with people of all shapes and colors, as if indicating that the show's success is due to diversity. And the old female icy host who didn't even know her writers' names has now warmed to them and is all friendly.

It definitely makes fun of the "old rich out of touch white people" trope as well as douchey fratbros which is always good for a laugh

I dont know if it's based on any real life events, I dont watch those late night talk shows and the only one with a female host that I know of is the one with Ellen degenerate

Ellen Show is done but it wasn't late night. It was a daytime talk show. It came on at like 3 pm or something.

Yeah I like these kinda low key movies. Its definitely not snl or 30 rock quality but it's pretty good.

Sounds good, Mindy is good, and I love Lithgow. Too bad I dont have Prime Video.
