I'd say most people DONT have pick ups. So they all have to get their furniture home somehow right?

most people are NPCs so they dont actually have furniture unless you interact with them at their home whereby the matrix just creates them for backstory.

fuck that uhaul they charge 20$ to borrow a truck. plus gas and then alot of mileage fees.

Often they will deliver. Also they often have to deliver bc what you see at the store is the showroom model and they order the same model from their inventory.
