Once. But I was fully vaxed so it wasn't that bad

Once that I'm aware of, prior to vaccinations being available.

4 that I know of. I suspect a fifth but I dont test anymore.

Once that I know of and potentially once like back in February 2020 just as it was starting to get bad.

1 time... couldn't dodge a 2nd time infected roommate which gotten me sick after he was sick from getting it from the old folks home.

me: 1 time
roommate: 2 times

grandfather: 3 times (recently gotten it last week from old folks home i think, there was one outing a week or so before infection but doubtful he was infected at the time i would've gotten it and my roommate would've gotten infected too).

Once, around late August or early September of 2022.

Once. Pretty sure I got it at a Rage Against the Machine show at a festival last July, though we did attend the previous week of shows. Was on the front rail the whole day and was crushed for their entire set, had dozens of people bodysurfing over me and had lots of other people's sweat one me.

Could have been asymptomatic before or after because of vaccines, but only got sick that one time. Thankfully the vaccine worked as intended and I basically just slept for a week.

Where is the i dont know option. I dont bother to get tested anymore after my job went mask optional and stop caring if people have COVID or not.

It is back to the pre-March 2020 days where people show up to work coughing or with a runny nose.

5 times. Wife worked covid ICU march 2020, I got it first time march 2020. All her coworkers including her immediately got it. Had a chill for a few hours, felt tired, that was it. One daughter presented no symptoms, the other had a cough for few days.

Got it again in Oct 2020 when it spread to all her coworkers. Once again, fatigue and chills. Both daughters, no symptoms.

I forgot when, but then got the variant that was before omnicron, once again because of the wife who works in ICU. Got fatigue only. Nothing with the daughters again.

Got vaccinated, went on vacation and got omnicron on vacation (so this time not from the wife). Was in bed for 2 days straight, one daughter was also in bed 2 days straight, wife had to rest one day, my other daughter had no symptoms.

Got it the fifth time in Oct, this time I had long covid, was sick for 3 months, I'm still coughing and my taste buds are still jacked up, almost going on 4 months. Once again, this is while vaccinated.

Either its a coincidence that my worst bouts have been after vaccination or covid is just a real crapshoot regardless of your vaccination status. I'm guessing through everyone who I know had it, its just one big crapshoot. My one healthy friend in his 30s who runs marathons got pneumonia during his bout with covid, got an embolism and is now on blood thinners.

Just once. And once too many. Developed new allergies afterwards that have fucked up my life a bit

Possibly 3 but that first time was right at the start with no testing readily available and while the cough wasn't severe, the lost of smell and taste is an indicator in retrospect.

0 times as far as I know. I got vaccinated as soon as it was available and I've been super careful around other people. My job did weekly testing from January 2021 until October 2022 and I was always negative. But it's possible that I got it with no symptoms, before or after that.

As far as I'm aware, once. Thankfully very mild since I was fully vaccinated.

1 that Im aware of last year at this time, I can thank my exs hillbilly family for that.

I kinda suspect Im an asymptomatic though because I didnt even feel sick then and have been around a bunch of people with it over the last few years, though that might also be because I get my booster every 6 months.

I got really sick at the beginning of 2020, before COVID was a widespread thing. I was out for a few days, and I initially assumed it was just a really bad flu. It may have been COVID looking back.

I tested positive for COVID at literally the beginning of 2022. I had just gotten my booster shot for COVID though, so my symptoms were relatively mild.

Once. Had my boosters and everything.

Figure if hadn't I would have been put in the hospital for high fever. Was really feverish, achy and tired for about 4 days.

Once at the very beginning of the pandemic. It was awful

Just once. Which is surprising since I work with the public and never got quarantine. Took my kid bringing it home to get me sick.

I've treated hundreds of patients with it, including early in the pandemic when it was killing a lot of folks that I intubated (high risk exposure) and never once got it.

It's not hard to avoid getting respiratory viruses. I shake my head at people on their 4th covid infection, I assume they're just going around sucking in everyone's cough

At least once (got it 15 days after my booster, only had a slight sore throat, was almost asymptomatic)

also had a horrible flu that left me with back and muscle pains for a month, but this was right when COVID first hit my county so it probably was just the flu

None that I know of but maybe twice a couple colds I had could have been Covid, they just never got really bad so I never checked. Since I'm fully vaccinated I may never know.

Once 2021 Christmas/ 2022New Years.

I had something super awful this past October which was worse than covid but I tested negative three times. All respiratory, lower body temp. Didn't feel flu-ish though.

Was at a wake and funeral earlier this week with lots of family and I just learned an aunt and cousin have tested positive so not optimistic. I generally wear a mask and avoid crowds but not for this so of course it gets me this time.

Your "jerk" of an Ex wife who was a Nurse in California, where she would have recieved priority for both the vaccination, and booster from being a front line worker, and also required to be vaccinated by the mandates in California to even work? They're a regular from POTD who posted for years who used to go by Mead who had a very well documented meltdown, was usermap banned after linking to his social media which led to their own pornographic content on another well known amateur adult content plattform including their exposed anus. They posted a bunch of unhinged videos including one where they admitted to breaking their wifes ribs after they left were left by them for some other guy. They surfaced a few times on other screen names there before their current one. Since their behavior was exposed (mostly by themself) everyone knows more or less the kind of person they are and their reputation (which was already not very good) was completely ruined, most or the POTD regulars have them blocked. They stopped posting there for the most part since no one really talks to them anymore and they have essentially rebooted themselves in CE because most of the people here don't know who they are, or their history

There was a thread a while back with links to a bunch of disturbing videos they made and posted on their social media directed towards their ex wife earlier this year. Blows my mind how many lies they've told here over the years.

you can still catch COVID if you are vaccinated, no vaccines have ever been 100% effective, that's just not how it works

No ofc not, but no doubt in my mind that it's the biggest factor as to why I haven't caught COVID. Get vaxxed.
