Probably the same thing. You can't get into fights with customers while on the clock and in uniform. That's an easy way to get fired no matter how strong your beliefs are.

It's dumb that this is considered newsworthy.

I never understand why people in this situation don't just call the police instantly or stop caring. You have no actual power to remove them directly, so why waste your time and get more angry for no reason?

Nothing wrong with them challenging the behaviour of the customer, or with asking them to leave or calling the police. However, physical aggression is only ever acceptable as a response to physical aggression.

Employee refers to someone as "sir" and the person goes off saying something like, It's maam! If you want we can go outside and I'll show you a 'sir'!" After being threatened the employee simply apologizes and continues helping other people. Gamestop stood by the employee.
