Why does it matter so much to you whether a singer is healthy and happy? Are you also super concerned about, I dunno, male movie stars that have drug addictions? Was it super important to let everyone know how unhealthy they were all the time and harass them about changing?

I mean, it should be important to all of us that everyone is healthy and happy. Drug use isn't really something that should be encouraged either. But right now, the epidemic in America that affects the most amount of people is obesity. But it isn't like obesity is the only way someone can be unhealthy. I'm against anorexia, I'm against steroid use, I'm against drug use. I don't think such things should be illegal, but I also don't think we should encourage them and pretend things that are unhealthy are healthy just to make people feel comfortable the moment before they die of a heart attack.

At the end of the day, everyone's health problems are problems for all of society too. If someone is obese, they are just another strain on a broken health system that already can't take care of people. If Americans are having heart attacks that were easily avoidable left and right, those are more beds at the hospital being taken up. Its the same reason why hardcore right wingers encouraging people to lick each other's eyeballs during covid was wrong. No one lives on an island where their actions only affect themselves. Obese people have family members that love them and would prefer they live longer, not shorter, lives. Like, it should be pretty obvious why we should care about any kind of societal health emergency, and that's what obesity is. And its a really easily avoidable one too.

I guess the real question is, why are you so opposed to the idea that maybe people living healthier is better? Is it the libertarian capitalist ideology that causes people to eat red meat and smoke cigars out of spite for liberal concern? Is it just that you fucking hate people and want to see them die earlier and live more meager, miserable lives? Like, there isn't any reason for it. I can understand being against bullying people for their health problems. But I can't understand any kind of ideology that says that we can't even help people get healthier and have to pretend that its actually good when people make bad health choices.

I did read it. I was just pointing out that its not a medical term. Which is what I said. And included some info on why all the shit everyone is saying about fat people is garbage. Because basically all doctors agree that weight isnt usually about peoples bad choices and lack of willpower.

I never even heard of Lizzo until this topic. Just shows that trolls provide free media wherever they go.

In all honesty it really comes off like Lizzo's career was a fluke. She's undeniably talented but she got her big break relatively late in life making ultimately boring, forgettable and bland pop music that doesn't stand out all. Her appearance and weight are front and center because there's not much you can say about her music. Her biggest supporters and fans don't even have anything to say about her music other than parroting the same specific "she's so positive!" and "she plays the flute!" comments.

She doesn't deserve a fraction of the hate she gets from miserable online trolls but if she had an appearance perceived as conventionally attractive, ironically the focus would shift towards how bland her music is. Other than her being able to play the flute, her appearance is the only thing that made her stand out when she initially got a push, and especially in the early 2020s' pop landscape. She doesn't deserve all the vitriol from the trolls but if they didn't exist she'd likely be criticized by people on the basis of making generic 2010s-sounding song after generic 2010s-sounding song.

There are percentages of bodyfat that are very much outside of the healthy range. It is never healthy to be at 5% bodyfat. Some bodybuilders may look very good at 5% body fat, and some may find it easier to maintain 5% bodyfat, but it isn't a healthy percentage of body fat. Neither is 50% bodyfat. Lizzo is very obviously outside the healthy range. It isn't something that should be encouraged, which is exactly what you are doing, precisely because you have a fetish for people with very high percentages of bodyfat. Its extremely disturbing to encourage people to be at unhealthy weights because you personally find that attractive.
