tl;dw: He feels that the Mario Kart roster plays it way too safe with its selections and even goes so far as to make up racers such as Babies Daisy and Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach, when there's a plethora of characters and content from the wider Marioverse to choose from: Donkey Kong Country, Wario Land, WarioWare, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, etc. He wants there to be more deep cuts from the Marioverse to get into Mario Kart, and if it becomes "Nintendo Kart" as many people seem to want, then the changes of those other Mario-related characters and content getting in will plummet even more, because space will have to be made for other Nintendo franchises.

Keep it Mario Kart, don't turn it into Super Smash Kart

yes i do, and i frankly don't understand why we have so few characters in the game when there's almost zero balancing required compared to something like a fighting game

Yes I agree. There's so many opportunities for tracks based on mario levels and locations. But alas we keep getting "normal real world thing but the people are toads".

I'm surprised there is not a 64/Sunshine/Galaxy/Odyssey hub world track yet. You got tracks with some elements of those games ( N64 Royal Raceway) but still

That fact theres like no Odyssey representation in MK8D is wild. There's so much they could do, it could be its own cup

Whats the point of keeping it MK? What, so you can have generic enemies and generic tracks named Toads _____?

Every track in MK 8 could have been switched with another charactr and it would have been the same. The items are hardly Mario-reliant and just happen to be mostly generic items that happen to be from Mario. The roster isnt interesting. Everyone is either mario luigi toad warios or koopalimgs, sitht he occasional interesting guy like King Boo. Then you get complete head scratchers like Queen Bee.

Just make it Smash Kart. It would be the EXACT same game, just sith different track names and better characters.

And you wouldnt tell the difference between Samuss Galactic Gateway and Warios Gravity Colosseum if they existed.

Why not both? A Smash Kart doesn't need to replace Mario Kart.

The guy is 100% right that they could come up with a much better Mario roster though. It's criminal that crap like the Baby princesses are on the roster instead of actual decent recurring Mario characters like E. Gadd.
