Deception was better in every way so no. Deception still has the best single player fighting game campaign ever made.

none of the ps2 games were very good but I remember it as deadly alliance having a neat story and new characters that I liked, and deception having worse throwaway characters but better gameplay

and Armageddon just stunk

MK9 would've been the best if it wasn't for the stupid graveyard jumpscares. UMK3 might be the only one I'd pick up these days.
