Well, thank god he and Amber finally broke up, better for both of them. Was hoping they'd come to their sense naturally and not just because she almost got murdered, but we'll take the wins where we can get them.

At least Allen is able to dish it out a bit better now, though I question the wisdom of getting on a prison ship with Nolan's books. I guess he's trying to break Nolan out though, so that'd be a big help.

Was that a cell phone Allen was on in space? Those things must have great reception

Another good episode with some unexpected outcomes. I kinda figured Donald's recent death wasn't his first one, but 39 is a lot more than I thought it would be. Poor Mark just can't catch a break. Really made me sad to see him and Amber coming to terms with the situation and their relationship.

Loved the meta humor near the start of the episode with the animation cutting corners.

Yeah, that was great. That and Allen recognizing a Viltrumite as soon as he pulled off his bear leaving just a mustache were both hilarious.

I'm pretty sure that's pulled straight from the comic where a Kirkman cameo says they save money by just copy/pasting panels.

I've seen the page before and instantly made the connection, but I wasn't aware before that the panels were from Invincible.

Yeah, I can't even say the Amber stuff was done poorly, it was a pretty nuanced and realistic take on a superhero relationship, but I'm also happy to see it go lol.

During the pair's date I was thinking, "Aww crap they're going to keep Mark with Amber for the long haul now huh?" She even seems like a completely different character than S1 Amber like it was a response to the backlash but regardless I'm glad she's out too. Bye bitch.

I was pretty late on watching it today, only finished a few hours ago, forgot it was on. I think they cut off the relationship between Mark and Amber about as well as they could have. I didnt hate Amber, but I also didnt care for her much either. I feel like Im usually into Heroes during their downtime, but it kinda feels uninteresting. The Donald stuff paid off really nicely though, considering how it felt a bit like filler in the other episodes.

I'm glad Donald made the decision that he did. He should get more interesting now

They really should have just fixed the scenes in that college episodes. Make it so Amber's wording is ambiguous so you can look back on it and tell she does know, she's just giving Mark the chance to come clean. But as it is, she just blames him for disappearing when she knows why he did, so it's kinda crazy.

I was wondering how patient the Viltrumite Empire was going to be with Mark in regards to conquering the planet. Not very by the looks of it, I wonder why their timetable is so short?

Maybe they just want to make sure things finally get rolling. After finding out what his dad did, they don't trust him to do the mission without some prodding. They probably are just worried they might check on him in 20 years and find out he still hasn't started

As much as I dislike Amber it seems like the hate for her is over the top. Lois from the new Superman show was 100 times worse. And people are not hating her like that.

Also love that Allen is getting some love. Can't wait to see him whoop some Viltrumite ass.

Donald, is the hero we don't deserve. I hope Rudy gives him an upgrade or something. Then he could just not die so much maybe.

I don't understand why. She's a sweet and understanding person. She wasn't holding Mark back from doing what he needed to do and wasn't demanding his attention. She got mad at Mark for lying to her for so long, but also forgave him when he came clean, even though she already figured he was a superhero.

It's solely down to the university episode where she berates him for running away and hiding when she knew full well that he was Invincible. Even in the most non-chud take, that is insanely manipulative and fucked up.

I think I said it earlier ITT, but the dialogue in that scene should have been more ambiguous so you could look back and tell she was giving him the chance to come clean.

Yeah that's not at all what happened and is the reason why people hate her. She only became nice to him after Mark's world tour. So she got back together with him because of pity.

My memory is kind of garbage sometimes, so I may just be remembering things out of order or differently. Did that happen in season 1 or in the first half of season 2?

-Gets mad in S1E6 for Mark "abandoning" her when the Reaniman showed up and breaks up
-Mark comes clean in S1E7 that he's Invincible, hence he was defending her from the Reaniman
-Oh I knew for weeks, I'm mad you didn't tell me
-Mark goes on a world tour with his dad in S1E8
-Very first comment Amber makes to him when he's out of the several week long stay at the hospital is something along the lines of "I guess I wasn't the only one lied to"
-Season 1 ends with her, William, and Eve at Burger Mart or whatever
-Some time in the several month timeskip between seasons 1 and 2 they get back together

Well keep in mind that Mark was still in space for several more months after he was given the ultimatum by Kregg, and it can be assumed imo that at least another month passed since Rex recovered from getting shot in the head and is now fully ready for combat. Still kinda short, but they probably want to make sure the son of the traitor is doing his job.

Yeah, I hadn't considered the time passing, but it's been three or four months. Makes sense that they'd check in for a quarterly review lol
