I've only had my one job/career

We had like a one or two month (max) period where they experimented with like staggered work schedules to minimize amount of people at work, but that was near the beginning when less was known in bulk about how contagious, how serious, etc it was to our age range (generally 18-40 year olds, mostly male, physically fit, etc)

By June of 2020 we were back to a fairly normal work schedule, just wearing masks. Officially, leadership gave a fuck, but they were more interested in us staying on top of our existing work related metrics once they determined that even if we caught COVID, we'd mostly be fine.

Other.

I quit my job before the pandemic started, and ffs, the pandemic didn't help with finding a new one.

Took nearly a year.

This:
My hours were cut/impacted, but I was never outright let go/laid off/furloughed
+
I lost the job I had and haven't been able to get/haven't gotten a job since

My job was never the same. Contracts that went away due to too much human contact never returned because those companies built the infrastructure necessary to handle everything in house. Along with other factors, I lost a lot of hope and havent been right since. Right now I just do odd jobs.

I work at government, back then in office hours were reduced and only one third of the staff were ordered to attend, the rest worked from home, and the in office staff was expected to finish their shift from home as well.

I liked it though

I got furloughed for like a month but then our contract manager quit and I got brought back because I was the only one who had experience with our contract system. The other furloughed people were out for around another month and a half to two months. I know it was uncertain times and it was better to know your job was safe but honestly, unemployment was paying more than I was making at the time thanks to all of the extra stuff they were adding.

My car died in march 2020. I could've stayed on and paid to get it repaired, but my boss was fine with letting me go so i could file for the unemployment benefits instead. I was delivering pizza, so a car was necessary. I was able to stretch my finances to take a little over four years off. Only recently got a new job working at a grocery store.

I kept my job and even ended up working more hours then usual... I'm a night grocery stocker and our loads became massive as everyone bought up whatever they could in short amount of time we'd be open during the day...

I even went from part-time to full-time during the pandemic...

I was one of the first employees who were allowed to work from home, and haven't been required to go back since thankfully.

However work absolutely sucked ass for pretty much a solid year with the number of extra calls for all the extra people being home constantly. Could never keep up with the increased call demand.

I worked for a company delivering hospice equipment from 2015 to early 2020, often to nursing homes. I'm severely asthmatic, so the prospect of going into covid hotbeds multiple times a day was terrifying. I voluntarily self-isolated starting in late March, and by May my employer insisted I return to work or they would terminate me. I despised my employer for several reasons, so I took the opportunity to quit. Unemployment agreed that I had just cause and I continued collecting benefits until they ran out whenever that year, I think late July. I was collecting more than I made working full time + 10 hours overtime/week, anyway. I put so much money in the bank lol. Never did catch covid, either.

No, but part of me wishes I was immuno compromised back then rather than 2 years later. We had a guy working for us at Wal-Mart who was immuno-compromised. He was able to get 12 months off of work at the start of the pandemic, and get paid MORE than he was getting paid while working, yet we had to work our full schedules to barely make bills.

To go along with that, Wal-Mart gave everyone a "Loyalty Bonus" of 400 dollars at the end of the Pandemic. While this sounds nice, they planned it so that it would be distributed 2 weeks before the Pandemic bonus from the government of nearly 3,000 dollars. But because it looked like we were already getting a bonus from Wal-Mart, every single person at my store was not qualified for the government bonus.

I worked at a casino that closed for about two months. They called me back, so no big deal.

on the other hand, my work bestie wasn't able to come back, because they wanted to force her to work graveyard shift even though they knew she is a single mom. I don't know what the deal with that was, unless they just wanted to be rid of her without actually firing her.

We were fully remote for several months and the services my organization provides had to be completely improvised as all of our physical locations were closed. It didn't affect me that radically other than introducing remote working, which I had not been able to do before, and without physical infrastructure to support I didn't have much to do.

My organization's official policy now is maximum 50% remote, so I do that two days a week. In some aspects I have never really gone back to work.

My job wasnt impacted in any way. Everything stayed the same and I worked like normal. I work at a power plant. It doesnt matter what is going on if its a normally scheduled work day you work. People still use electricity no matter what.

My life itself wasnt really impacted by Covid in any meaningful way. I had to wear a mask to the grocery store for a few months. That was it. Thats the only impact to my life that happened.

I had quit my job and bought a new car the week before the world exploded. My second day at my new job was the day everything shut down, and they fired me and the other person they hired.

I ended up getting a ton of unemployment and they eventually called me and hired me again three or four months later.

it was scary for a second but it all worked out

I do newspaper deliveries late at night to all the gas stations/corner stores/grocery stores etc. in my area.

My job got noticibely better by the pandemic, because all of the stores started opening and closing at weird hours and nobody wanted us to go in the stores if we could avoid it, so half my route just became tossing bundles out my window at mostly closed stores.

It was pretty sweet.
