Hoenn actually has roughly 50% land 50% water, fitting the theme of the game

It's just that naturally, there's a lack of environment variety when you're in the middle of the ocean, so it feels like there's too much water and nothing else

.....If you count the underwater maps separately from the ocean maps though, Hoenn does have more water than land

Maybe the execution of the theme was poor then, because that's too much water. 7.8/10.

The criticism was valid, it was just a dumb editorial bullet point that got fixed in edit.
