Most suffered from awful blocky textures, bad or no camera control. early 3D gaming was very rough. Obviously it's important and revolutionary for it's time, but the game is sort of designed for the player to marvel at being able to traverse 3D space at all, which is something taken for granted by my generation. OoT is at its best when you're just exploring and finding fresh things to do. Lon Lon Ranch, Kakariko Village, and Lake Hylia are the best locations because you're just interacting with the world without (many) expectations. Though, if you don't like the fishing game it's going to be an immediate -20 likability points. Same with LttP. So many puzzles are just "take <key> to <NPC-lock> to unlock next part." I also generally prefer the controls of LA-style games. LA > LoZ > LttP > OoT MM and AoL fit in somewhere. MM has lots to just do and explore and I don't mind the timer, but also a lot of <bring thing to NPC>.
