For me, they "win" because of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I didn't think there would be any new games I'd be buying the rest of this year and then they announce this. A Zelda game where you actually *gasp* play as Zelda and the gameplay itself looks amazingly fun.

And yeah, Metroid 4 should be great, too.

Nintendo rarely disappoints, so I expect Echoes of Wisdom to easily be my favorite new game of this year.

Unless FromSoftware pulls a shocker and releases a GOTY/complete edition of Elden Ring with Shadow of the Erdtree on disc. But that's only going to happen in my dreams.

Well, that, showing that the Mario & Luigi series isn't dead, Donkey Kong Country Returns returning, a new Zelda game where you finally get to play as Zelda, and among quite a few other third-party announcements, IT'S MAHVEL BAYBEE!

The only "glasses" here are people who think that a game needs cutting edge graphics to be good. Bullshit. Nintendo puts out quallity game after quality game that provides something FUN to play.

I don't give a shit about graphics. Give me great gameplay. Nintendo is the master at that.

If you made me choose between my Switch and my PS4/PS5, the decision would be super easy. I enjoy my Sony consoles, but the Switch offers so many more solid, fun games. And that's why I play games of all types: to relax and have fun.

I felt like this Direct had a lot of "you've been waiting a long time for this" reveals.

I felt equally happy seeing a real new Perfect Dark trailer too even though it was teased years ago. Metroid Prime 4 and new Perfect Dark basically count as true reveals this time around. Teasers like a logo or some total mock up count halfway.

That Zelda game looks meh tbh

And I can admit when Xbox does better than Sony. If I was an obvious pony, Id be saying Sony won lol.

I mostly play things on my ps5, but I still say Nintendo at least matched the Xbox conference if not surpassed it for me personally, as the third party titles in both are mostly multiplat, which means they're more games I get to enjoy

Add in the first party titles between the two that I can get on PC and Switch and... just seems like a win for everyone

The Xbox showcase was also a great showcase for PS5 though lol. A majority of the games are going to be on both consoles and the one's left over are like 3 or 4 actual heavy hitters (that will be on PC day one anyway). I think STALKER 2 was also leaked to have a 3 month exclusivity window, and considering all the original trilogy was just ported all over the place, I would not be surprised if that makes its way over as well.

Also, Marvel Arcade Collection is skipping Xbox for some reason so can we say they REALLY won??

Exactly, the Xbox and Nintendo conferences had something for everyone, even those who don't have those specific platforms

Allegedly there's an issue with MT Framework on Xbox consoles, so Capcom just...isn't releasing on them. Which is a real shame.

It looks good but it also just looks like more Metroid. Didnt exactly blow me away.

It's actually exactly the opposite problem. I'd have to find yet more ports to hook up more consoles.

I have my NES, my 2600 Flashback, my SNES, my PS1, my PS2, my PS3, my N64, my GameCube, my Wii and my Wii U all hooked up at once and I just can't fool with any more consoles.

It used to be tools but then I think that became mod worthy. PS Tools, Nintendrone and XBots were the go to insults. But Tool doesn't really work since we are past the PS2 so it swapped to Pony cause it rhymes.

I think it's stupid.

Xbox and Nintendo both had good shows. Sony sucked. But I think summer games fest sucked even worse.

It's not just Metroid Prime 4, but I'm sure you knew that TC. But yes, we're glad to see that a game they announced 7 years ago wasn't just vaporware and was real. This is like questioning why the Xbox show was good just because they finally showed Perfect Dark.
